The Beast in the Ice is one of the earliest Liar Bosses that you will face, especially after the Lair Boss Rework that has put it in the Initiate Tier of endgame ladder bosses.
Dealing primarily with Cold Damage with its attacks, this boss can be quite a challenge for those who have just reached Torment I during a season.
Challenging The Beast in the Ice does not go unrewarded though as you can access its Hoard Chest later when you defeat it if you have the right Liar Boss Keys with you.
Beast in the Ice Location (Glacial Fissure)
You may challenge The Beast in the Ice in the Glacial Fissure, a Boss Lair that is located to the south of Kyovashad that is hard to miss.
The fastest way to reach the Glacial Fissure would be to travel south from Kyovashad or make your way northeast from Nevesk.
You can fast travel to the Glacial Fissure by selecting it on your map.
Summoning and Defeating The Beast in the Ice
The Beast in the Ice will attack you with different skills but eventually, he resorts to using his melee attacks once finished with his Cold Attacks.
These include releasing projectiles, breathing out ice and even slamming the ground to create explosions around him.
It is best to reserve your evade charges to dodge his skills and to move out of the way when he attempts to push you out of the area, which can get you killed quickly.
After taking a certain amount of damage, The Beast in the Ice will fly off and may summon enemies to attack you but if you deal enough damage, you can defeat him before this happens.
Wait for him to return after he takes off and continue attacking until you eventually kill the boss, which later causes his Hoard Chest to appear.
To reduce the amount of damage that you receive, you can use an Elixir of Cold Resistance as this may increase your chances of survival.
This boss has powerful cleaving attacks that often hit you even if you are further away from it, making it best to stay behind it whenever you can.
How To Open The Beast in Ice’s Hoard Chest?
After you have defeated the Beast in the Ice, you may find its Hoard Chest nearby, which requires Distilled Fear to open.
You will need 12 Distilled Fear each time you attempt to open The Best in Ice’s Hoard, which is the name of the chest.

Make sure to avoid the waves that The Beast in the Ice creates to avoid being pushed out of the boss fight area or you may end up getting killed.
While Cold Resistance is recommended, you can still beat The Beast in the Ice if you avoid its attacks and can deal a good amount of damage.
If you do not bring 12 or more Distilled Fear, you won’t be able to open the Hoard Chest that appears after defeating the boss, which will make you miss out on rewards.
