How To Get Red Dust in Diablo 4

Diablo 4 has several currencies and when it comes to a riskier activity, such as exploring the Fields of Hatred, players can obtain a currency called Red Dust.

Red Dust is considered a PVP Currency, mainly used to make purchases in the towns of Alzuuda and Denshar, which are found within the Fields of Hatred locations.

Once you have obtained Red Dust, you may use this currency to make purchases for certain PVP Vendors who sell exclusive items.

How To Get Red Dust?

To obtain Red Dust, you must head to the Fields of Hatred to defeat enemies that have a chance to drop Seeds of Hatred and may also complete Events as these reward them as well.

Enemies defeated in the Fields of Hatred have a certain chance to drop Seeds of Hatred and it is more common for stronger enemies to drop them.

The stronger the enemy, the more Seeds of Hatred you may get and one of the best ways to get a large amount would be to hunt down the Seething Abomination and complete Events.

Once you have obtained Seeds of Hatred, you will need to head to one of the Altars of Extraction to perform the Ritual of Hatred.

The Ritual of Hatred is a quick activity that will convert your Seeds of Hatred into Red Dust after 50 seconds have gone by.

Upon completion of the Ritual of Hatred, all of the Seeds of Hatred that you have will be removed and the same amount will be added to your Red Dust.

Seething Abomination

The Seething Abomination is a boss that can be found roaming the Fields of Hatred and can be quite a challenge but hunting it down may be rewarding as well.

Attacking the Seething Abomination will cause it to retaliate, and this may also attract nearby enemies, so be prepared for a challenge.

Once this boss has been defeated, it will drop several Seeds of Hatred along with other equipment that may be useful.

How To Use Red Dust?

Red Dust may be used to purchase from the PVP Vendors that you may find in Alzuuda or Denshar as this is the only currency they accept.

Once you head to one of these towns, you will be able to interact with the following types of vendors:

  • Cursed Scroll (Scrolls that provide various effects within the Fields of Hatred)
  • Odds and Ends (Character Armor Cosmetics)
  • Unconventional Mount Armor (Different Cosmetics for Mounts)
  • Unsavory Oddities (Random Equipment – Similar to Purveyor of Curiosities)

Best Ways To Farm Red Dust

The best way to get a lot of Red Dust would be to spend time in the Fields of Hatred, where you may defeat countless enemies.

It would be ideal to roam the area, open chests, slay Elite enemies, and hunt down the Seething Abomination when it spawns.

Keep in mind that this is a PVP Location and you will want to be careful when other players are Bloodmarked as they can attack other players but you can attack them as well.

Fields of Hatred Locations

The Alzuuda Fields of Hatred may be found in the Dry Steppes while the Denshar Fields of Hatred may be found in Kehjistan.

Once you arrive at one of the towns, you can unlock their Waypoint and this will allow you to easily return to the location whenever you wish to farm more Red Dust.

Verdict

Red Dust is valued for its use in purchasing items in the Denshar/Alzuuda as the cosmetics cannot be obtained elsewhere.

Those with excess Red Dust may take a risk at the Unsavory Oddity Vendors to trade the currency for random equipment, which can be an alternative method to obtaining new gear.

Farming Seeds of Hatred can be done easily but keep in mind that when you are in the Fields of Hatred, your Potion will have a cooldown.
