How to Fix Cabbage Error in Destiny 2

With the arrival of the Destiny 2 Season of the Witch update, players were ready to jump into the fray once more and start the campaign.

It was later revealed that a majority of players were unable to progress though, which was due to a common issue that goes by the error code “cabbage.”

This error had been preventing players from playing the game and made it impossible to get through a mission as it would bring them back to the main screen.

What Is Error Code Cabbage?

Bungie has described Error Code Cabbage to occur when there are router settings that prevent communications to the Destiny 2 services.

They are currently looking through what may cause this issue to certain devices and suggested a few fixes that may help. (Mainly with Technicolor/Thompson Routers)

The following are the fixes that Bungie has issued:

  • Connect the console directly to the router via a Wired or Wi-Fi connection
  • Create a new Firewall level in router settings (name it Destiny 2)
  • Enable UPnP
  • Disable “Extended Security”
  • Disable any “Assigned Games & Application” setting

How To Fix Cabbage Error?

Sadly, players will have to wait for Bungie to figure out what is causing the issue since the game was running smoothly until then.

For now, the best option would be either to way or to force yourself into the missions as we did, which went quite well after a few attempts.

After getting around 3 Cabbage Errors, we were able to delve into the Way of the Witch Mission and complete it without further issues.

Verdict

Destiny 2 has been keeping players in the hype with this next season and a lot are looking forward to seeing how Eris Morn has a new key role in what is to come.

We are all hoping that Bungie can take care of this soon so that everyone may begin playing the game without issues to avoid a loss of progress from time to time.

For now, it is either a waiting game for those who do not want to get kicked into orbit or a matter of perseverance for those who will continue regardless of the Cabbage Error.
