Ground Pals rely on powerful earth-based attacks, using brute force and heavy strikes to overwhelm enemies and punish targets vulnerable to Ground damage.
They are especially useful when dealing with Electric Pals, giving you a strong counter when facing enemies that rely heavily on lightning attacks.
If you have a Ground Pal that you plan to take into the endgame, Ground Radiant Gems provide the material needed to awaken it and push its stats even further.
Where To Get Ground Radiant Gem?
Ground Radiant Gems can be obtained by defeating certain Pals in the World Tree, although there are currently very few Ground-type options available in the region.
Dualith is currently the main World Tree Pal to target for Ground Radiant Gems, but its spawn rate is low and relying on it alone can make farming frustrating.
You can also obtain the material through World Tree Expeditions, fishing, treasure chests, and the Ancient Relic Recycler, giving you several alternatives while the current Pal drops remain unreliable.
World Tree Ground Pals
The following Pals are currently recorded as sources of Ground Radiant Gems, with some appearing throughout the World Tree at high levels.
- Dualith – Ground/Grass – Drops Ground Radiant Gem
- Knocklem – Ground – (BUGGED: Does not seem to spawn at the World Tree)
- Snock Terra – Electric/Ground – (BUGGED: Only drops Electric Radiant Gem)
- Aegidron – Dragon/Ground – (BUGGED: Only drops Dragon Radiant Gem)
Since Dualith is the only Pal right now that seems to drop Ground Radiant Gems, it is best to focus on recycling Ancient Relics to get them.
Other Ways To Get Ground Radiant Gems
World Tree Expeditions can provide Ground Radiant Gems as rewards, giving you a passive way to collect the material while your Pals handle expedition tasks.
Fishing throughout the World Tree can also reward Ground Radiant Gems, allowing you to build your supply while collecting other useful resources.
World Tree treasure chests can contain Ground Radiant Gems as well, giving you another chance to find them while exploring different areas.
Ancient Relics can be processed through the Ancient Relic Recycler for a chance to obtain Ground Radiant Gems.
Ground Radiant Gem Uses
Ground Radiant Gems are currently more difficult to collect than some other elemental gems because there are so few Ground Pals available within the World Tree.
Dualith can provide the material, but its low drop rate makes repeated hunting a poor way to build a large stockpile at the moment.
For now, processing Ancient Relics through the Recycler is the better approach, while future patches may make Ground Pal drops a much more reliable source.
Verdict
Ground Radiant Gems are worth collecting early in your World Tree progression, especially with large groups of Grizzbolt and Mossanda Lux available around Verdant Rootpath.
Since the World Tree Pal drops can currently be affected by bugs, relying on fishing, Expeditions, treasure chests, and the Ancient Relic Recycler is the safer approach for building your supply.
Once you have a Ground Pal you intend to keep for the endgame, stockpiling these gems gives you everything needed to give it another permanent boost when you are ready.
