Your previous detour through the tunnels has led you back on track to making it to the First Vault, and now it is time to continue.
Traveling together with Tyrael and Lorath, you must now move quickly as the mountain you are traversing becomes more chaotic by the minute.
The group is now close to the Horadric Vault, and this means that Lilith’s Blade can soon be reforged if you make it in time.
How To Get The Needle’s Path Quest?
You obtain “The Needle’s Path” quest after completing “A Still-Beating Heart,” and this happens after exiting the tunnels.
The tunnels served as an alternate route that allowed you to progress to the Mount Hefaetrus South Face, as the original path was no longer available.
The Needle’s Path Walkthrough
Once you have made it out of the tunnels, you will need to continue along the path, making your way to the marked location on your map.
As you travel through the mountains, you will have to climb to higher elevations and fight your way through the monsters that reside in the area.
The group must press on, and as you continue, eruptions will occur in certain spots, which require you to stay near Tyrael to remain in the protected area he creates.
There will be 3 eruptions in total, which all cause enemies to spawn, and they must be defeated to end the eruptions, allowing you to continue.
After the third eruption, you will be close to the Door to the First Vault and will need to interact with it so that it opens up for the group.
Once you have opened the door, you and the others will be able to access The First Vault, and the quest will be complete.
The Needle’s Path Quest Rewards
After surviving the journey to the Door to the First Vault and opening it, “The Needle’s Path” quest will be complete, and a new one called “Doorways to the Distant Past” will begin.
In addition to the next quest being unlocked, you also receive:

Verdict
After making your way out of the tunnels, you and your allies continued the dangerous climb across Mount Hefaetrus as the volcanic activity around the mountain grew even worse.
Repeated eruptions forced the group to rely on Tyrael’s protection while fighting through waves of enemies blocking the path to the Horadric Vault.
With the Door to the First Vault finally opened, the chance to reforge Lilith’s Blade is now within reach as the group prepares to enter the ancient vault.
