Destiny 2 Morphology Mission Walkthrough (The Edge of Fate)

You recently made your way to meet up with a scientist known as Dr. Carnahan, but she was nowhere to be found when you arrived.

After locating her, she revealed that there had been an attack that resulted in her assistant being murdered and their technology stolen.

To figure out where another Strangelet Capsule is to be found, you must chase after the murderer to reclaim the stolen technology and search for clues that may be useful.

How To Get Morphology Mission?

The “Morphology” becomes available during Quest Step 5 of The Outer Steppes Strangelet quest, which has you searching for another capsule with the help of Dr. Carnahan.

Completing Morphology must be done for you to obtain another ability to help you progress later, while also providing justice for the murdered assistant.

Morphology Mission Walkthrough

Your search begins with you making your way through a portal train, and immediately after you exit, you will be hot on the trail of the murderer.

This member of the House of Exiles is called Felciks, Fielding of the Archon Prime, and the moment you reach him, he attempts to escape.

Continue your pursuit of Felciks and interact with the switch nearby to get through the door, which leads you on a path where you fight your way through more Exiles.

You will eventually reach an open area, where Felciks may be encountered, but he will initially be immune to damage.

This requires that you use Mattermorph to overcharge a nearby pylon, which will drop Arc Charges that may be thrown at Felciks.

Once hit by 2 Arc Charges, Felciks’s immunity will be gone, and you will be able to damage him up to the point where he loses a portion of his health.

As you damage Felciks, he will drop artifacts, and you must pick these up while you fight and later pursue him.

Continue making your pursuit after Felciks once more, and this will lead you deeper into a facility where you will need to repeat the steps of disabling his immunity with Arc Charges.

After removing his shields and damaging a portion of Felciks’s health, he will once again make a run for it, and you will have to chase after him while collecting artifacts.

Felciks will be on the run again after you have collected artifacts that he has dropped during the fight, and once again, you will have to follow him.

Make your way to Felciks’ location by using the Matterspark ability again, and this will eventually lead you to a room that has lasers blocking the path going down.

A Relocator can be found above the entrance of this room, and you may use this to activate the teleporter nearby to descend.

Continue making your way to the next area, and you will fight Felciks once more, which requires you to repeat the process needed to make him vulnerable.

From this point, you will be able to take out a larger portion of his health until only a small amount remains.

Felciks will flee from the fight again, dropping even more artifacts while you chase after him, but beware, the next area has lasers that detonate mines. (Shoot or slip through them)

Upon reaching the final area, you will obtain the Mattermorph ability, and this will allow you to move objects in the environment.

Head to the area where you can activate Mattermorph and use this to alter the materials that are highlighted, which will provide you a way to get inside where Felciks is hiding.

Once you drop down to Felciks’ location, defeat the murderer, and the quest will come to an end shortly after. (Be sure to loot the chests inside the room)

Morphology Mission Rewards

Various chests may be obtained during this mission, and at the end, you will have obtained the Mattermorph ability to use in other quests, missions, and even as you explore.

Completion of the Morphology mission will also allow you to progress with “The Outer Steppes Strangelet” quest.

Verdict

It turns out that the murderer was not just a killer but also a thief who had taken several artifacts along with the missing technology.

Eventually, you were able to track him down and pursue him until he was finally cornered, allowing you to deal the final blow.

It appears that Archon Levask was behind this plot, and the next task is soon to be revealed, which should finally get you that capsule that you have been searching for.
