Higasa is a primary weapon that was introduced in the Koumei & The Five Fates Update, which serves as Koumei’s signature rifle.
This weapon fires a burst of five incredibly accurate shots but this is not all that is special about the weapon as it also provides you with defense.
Higasa has its own built-in shield that activates whenever you are aiming, which is one of the ways to power up a powerful beam that it unleashes. (Charged with kills or blocking attacks with shield)
Higasa Stats
Higasa has two firing modes, where its first firing mode is automatic and shoots a burst of projectiles while the other is a charged beam.
Killing enemies with Higasa as well as blocking shots with its barrier (activates when aiming) will charge the beam.

Higasa Unique Traits
Aiming Higasa will create a shield that blocks weapon fire that should hit its wielder, which provides you more survivability when it comes to mid to long-range combat.
Higasa can charge itself to prepare to unleash a charged beam attack, which it readies up when you kill enemies or use its shield to block attacks.
This gives you a decent amount of both offense and defense, especially if you are fighting enemies at a distance or even firing at bosses.
How to Get Higasa?
1) Farming Higasa Blueprint On Saya’s Visions Mission (Fate Pearls Also)
Koumei & The Five Fates included a new mission called Saya’s Visions, which can be run from your orbiter or on Cetus. (You must first visit Saya and do one run)
At the end of the mission, players may receive blueprints by chance but will always obtain Fate Pearls, which can be used at Koumei’s Shrine.
2) Purchasing Blueprints From Koumei’s Shrine
Once you have enough Fate Pearls, you may visit Koumei’s Shrine and exchange them for rewards, which include blueprints for the items introduced in the update.
These will be blueprints for Higasa and its components, which you may purchase and craft once you are back on your ship.

Verdict
Higasa is quite a useful weapon when it comes to fighting at long distances but is also excellent for close to mid-range fights if you are often mobile.
The shield that Koumei has may not be that large but it is just enough to keep you protected and a good way to help charge up the weapon’s beam.
With a combination of burst shots along with charged beams, it becomes quite easy to melt your enemies at pretty much any range in a fight.
