Warframe: How to Get Gauss & Gauss Prime (2026) Guide

Gauss is a kinetic Warframe defined by extreme speed and precision, using his momentum to navigate the battlefield and manipulate combat in unique ways.

His abilities focus on storing and releasing kinetic energy, enabling him to disrupt enemy formations, deal explosive damage, and gain defensive advantages while moving rapidly.

With a combination of high mobility and energy-based mechanics, Gauss brings a distinct playstyle that rewards timing, positioning, and continuous motion for both offense and utility.

How To Get Gauss?

You may purchase the Main Blueprint for Gauss from the in-game market aboard the Orbiter, which will cost you 30,000 Credits.

His Component Blueprints can be obtained from the Kappa (Disruption Mission) on Sedna, which drops in Rotation C.

Additionally, Gauss may also be purchased for 325 Platinum, providing you with the Warframe already built to skip the necessary grinding in Kappa, Sedna.

Gauss Abilities

Passive Ability

When Gauss moves, he generates an electrical current that fills his battery, which has its own gauge meter displayed above his ability icons.

His battery acts as a secondary resource, which will charge or drain depending on what abilities he uses, providing him with a backup Energy source for his abilities.

Utilizing his abilities causes the following increase or decrease to his battery:

Mach Rush

  • Casting Mach Rush increases battery by 10%
  • Each enemy hit by Mach Rush increases battery by 1%

Kinetic Plating

  • Reduces battery by 1% while active
  • Battery is reduced by 0.1% when hit
  • Battery is increased by 0.25% when hitting enemies with melee attacks

Thermal Sunder

  • Casting Cold increased battery by 10%
  • Casting Heat reduces battery by 10%

Redline

  • Battery is reduced by 2% while gauge is below 100%
  • Battery drains to the amount displayed at the end of Redline

Every point of battery that is stored in his gauge provides him with a bonus Shield Recharge Rate and Shield Recharge Delay Reduction. (120% recharge rate and 80% recharge delay when full)

The amount of battery that Gauss has stored also amplifies his abilities, providing the following effects:

  • Kinetic Plating – Increases Damage Reduction
  • Thermal Sunder – Increases Damage and Status Duration
  • Redline – Increases Fire Rate, Attack Speed, Reload Speed, and Casting Speed

1) Mach Rush

Gauss bursts into a hyper-sprint, allowing him to charge through enemies while charging his battery as he moves.

Holding the ability allows Gauss to continuously perform Mach Rush, while crashing into solid objects causes him to generate a powerful shockwave.

2) Kinetic Plating

Gauss generates armor plating that converts a portion of absorbed Kinetic Damage into energy while also preventing him from being staggered or knocked down.

Damage Resistance is relative to his battery level, and absorbed damage includes Physical, Heat, Cold, and Blast Damage.

3) Thermal Sunder

When activated, Gauss siphons kinetic energy from the area around him, which charges his battery and inflicts the Cold Status on nearby enemies.

Holding the ability reverses the process, which drains the battery and inflicts the Heat Status on enemies around him.

4) Redline

Gauss pushes his battery beyond the redline, which supercharges his abilities and sets his settings higher, improving certain stats.

This also causes bolts of arcing electricity to dance around Gauss, which explode when the ability is deactivated, damaging enemies nearby.

Verdict

Gauss excels at combining speed and damage, using Mach Rush to move through enemies and Kinetic Plating to stay durable while generating energy for his abilities.

Thermal Sunder and Redline allow him to manage multiple enemies efficiently, providing both crowd control and strong offensive output.

With careful use of his battery system, Gauss can maintain momentum, amplify his abilities, and dominate the battlefield, making him a top-tier Warframe for skilled players.
