Ascension is a game mode that was introduced with the Jade Shadows update, which features the Tenno going to the Stalker’s Lair to intervene with the Corpus’ plans.
Jade’s energy still exists in the lair and her motes have been left behind, which has led to Corpus placing Mote Extractors to collect them.
You will need to stop them by taking the collector and bringing it to the surface to prevent them from getting their hands on what Jade left behind.
Ascension Walkthrough
You will need to follow the waypoint until you reach the Mote Collect and once you arrive you will need to defend it for 1 minute.
After defending the Mote Collector, you will need to make your way to a nearby Capsule, which you will have to escort to an elevator.
Upon arriving at the elevator, you will need to search for Ionic Charges that you may pick up and throw at the Capsule to power the elevator.
The elevator will have a certain amount of power that drains as it ascends, which requires you to continuously find Ionic Charges to power it.
Continue fighting back the Corpus to force them to drop charges or search for Boosted Ionic Charges to power the elevator and make it ascend faster.
This needs to be done until you have reached the highest area, where Corpus enemies will be waiting for you.
If you manage to collect 3 Sister Beacons, you will encounter a Sister of Parvos, who will drop an additional reward if you defeat her. (Check list below)
After dealing with the Sister of Parvos or if you simply reached the top without summoning one, you will need to continue escorting the Capsule.
Upon exiting the lair and reaching the end of the runway, the Ascension Mission will be complete and you will get Vestigial Motes.
Ascension Rewards
Completing Ascension Missions will often reward you with 11 to 13 Vestigial Motes and these are increased to 16 to 18 if you play on The Steel Path.
Vestigial Motes can be traded by going to Ordis at the Larunda Relay (Mercury) to purchase items that he has in stock.
How To Find Sister Beacons?
Sister Beacons may be found around the area where the elevator rises, making it necessary to look around for them as it goes up.
You will often notice these by their bright bluish glow and may approach and interact with them to pick them up and activate them.
Collecting a total of 3 Sister Beacons will result in a Sister of Parvos appearing once the elevator reaches its destination.
Sister of Parvos Rewards
Defeating a Sister of Parvos will provide you with 5 to 7 Vestigial Motes or 8 to 10 if you are playing on The Steel Path.
Additionally, you have a chance to collect one of the following Arcanes when upon extracting if you have defeated a Sister of Parvos:
- Arcane Enhancements
- Arcane Ice Storm
- Arcane Battery
- Secondary Surge
- Secondary Fortifier
- Melee Afflictions
Mission Unique Drops
Ascension includes an enemy known as the Juno Sapper (MOA) that can only be found in Brutus, Mercury and defeating them can provide you with the following mods:
- Melee Elementalist
- Pistol Elementalist
- Rifle Elementalist
- Semi-Pistol Cannonade
- Semi-Rifle Cannonade
- Semi-Shotgun Cannonade
- Shotgun Elementalist
Verdict
The Ascension game mode is not that hard if you can handle the enemies and jump through the area quickly to find Ionic Charges.
Failure to defend the Capsule will result in it shutting down temporarily but you will have another chance to protect it.
Taking out the Sister of Parvos that spawns as soon as possible is best so you can get back to escorting the Capsule to complete the mission.
