With the Fishing Feature added along with the release of the Tides of Terraria update, players can now go fishing in Palworld.
Obtaining a Beginner Fishing Rod isn’t the only thing you need to get started, though, because bait is also required for you to do this activity.
This is where Simple Bait comes in, the very first type of bait that you will be able to unlock and the easiest to craft.
How To Unlock and Craft Simple Bait?
Unlike other technology that you unlock, Simple Bait does not have a specific slot in the Technology Menu that you need to unlock with points.
It turns out that this item is part of the Beginner Fishing Set, which also includes the Beginner Fishing Rod once unlocked. (Requires Level 15 and 2 Technology Points)
After unlocking the Beginner Fishing Set, you will be able to craft Simple Bait at a Primitive Workbench or better crafting station.
The following materials are needed to craft Simple Bait:
- 2 Pal Fluids
- 4 Red Berries
- 2 Flour
Every instance of Simple Bait that is crafted will provide you with 10 of this item.
How To Use Simple Bait?
Once you have crafted a Simple Bait and have equipped a Beginner Fishing Rod or better, it will automatically be selected as your bait if it is the first type you have crafted.
If you have more than one type of bait for fishing, you will be able to cycle through the ones that you have while aiming with your fishing rod.
Bait that is equipped will automatically be used once you cast your line while fishing, which will only be consumed if you catch or lose a Pal after it bites.
Simple Fishing Bait Effects
Simple Fishing Bait is the first type of bait you can get your hands on, and this does not provide any bonus effects when it comes to fishing.
This bait is mainly used as a means to be able to fish early in the game, and eventually, you will want to unlock and craft the more advanced ones.
Although Simple Fishing Bait is the most common bait, it can be used to catch most Pals but the minigame will be difficult compared to when using other bait.
Verdict
Simple Fishing Bait is the cheapest of all the types of bait that you can use for fishing, and can be easily crafted once you have Pal Fluids, Red Berries, and Flour.
Before you can start crafting Fishing Bait, you will need to have a Wheat Plantation and Mill, which are necessary for producing Flour.
Pals may take longer to bite when using Simple Bait, but this is not much of an issue, and the real importance of upgrading to better bait is for making the minigame easier.
