Fishing has always been anticipated in Palworld, and with the release of the Tides of Terraria update, you can now do this once you have the necessary equipment.
For starters, the earliest Fishing Rod you can get is unlocked once the Beginner Fishing Set is unlocked, allowing you to craft it.
Once crafted, equipping this rod will allow you to fish Pals out of the water, allowing you to instantly catch them.
How To Unlock and Craft Beginner Fishing Set?
The Beginner Fishing Set can be unlocked once you have reached Level 15 with your character, and this can be done by accessing the Technology Menu.
Once you have unlocked the Beginner Fishing Set, you may craft it at a High Quality Workbench or better crafting station of the same type. (Such as Production Assembly Lines)
After you have unlocked the Beginner Fishing Set, the following is needed to craft it:
- 10 Paldium Fragment
- 3 Pal Fluids
- 8 Ingot
- 8 Fiber
This mainly crafts the Beginner Fishing Rod, while the following is required to craft Simple Bait that is unlocked with the Beginner Fishing Set:
- 2 Pal Fluids
- 4 Red Berries
- 2 Flour
Crafting Simple Bait will provide you with 10 each time you craft it.
How To Use Beginner Fishing Set?
The Beginner Fishing Set unlocks more than just the Beginner Fishing Rod (Chillet); it also unlocks Simple Bait that you can craft at a Primitive Workbench or better crafting station.
Once you have the Beginner Fishing Rod and Simple Bait or better, you will need to head to open water and search for Pals swimming under. (You can see their silhouettes under the water)
Equip your Beginner Fishing Rod and cast your line near the Pals that are underwater and wait for one to bite, which will allow you to start a minigame that you must complete to catch the Pal.
Chillet Fishing Rod
The Beginner Fishing Rod (Chillet) is the basic rod that you can craft after you have unlocked the Beginner Fishing Set.
This is the standard fishing rod and earliest that you can get but it is possible to find the schematic for another fishing rod, which is the Gumoss variant.
Gumoss Fishing Rod
A small upgrade to the previous rod, the Beginner Fishing Rod (Gumoss) provides a small increase in the bar during the fishing minigame. (1.1x Size Increase)
The Gumoss Fishing Rod schematic has a chance to be obtained from salvage and will allow you to craft its variant of the Beginner Fishing Rod.
Verdict
The Beginner Fishing Set can be unlocked during the earlier stages of the game, providing you with an easy way to get certain Pals through fishing.
Keep in mind that Simple Bait is needed to fish (or better if you have unlocked them), or else you won’t be able to catch Pals.
As you progress with your character and gain more levels, you will be able to unlock better Fishing Rods and Bait that will increase your chances of success when it comes to fishing.
