With the release of the Tides of Terraria update, Palworld introduced new features, and one of them is the Trust System.
This is basically a measurement of how much your Pal trusts humans, specifically your character, and this grows over time until it reaches its limit.
Depending on the Trust Level your Pal has, it will gain certain bonuses to its stats, making it more efficient in battle.
What is Pal Trust?
Pal Trust measures how much trust it has for your character, and this can increase or decrease based on how your Pal is treated.
A higher Trust Level provides your Pal with higher stats, while a lower trust level will have its stats near the minimum amount.
To summarize things, you will want to have Pals to have a high Trust Level so that they can perform better, since they will have a bonus to their stats.
Pal Trust Bonus
As your Pal’s Trust increases, their combat stats (Attack and Defense) will gain a certain bonus depending on the Trust Level.
Your Pal’s Trust Level can reach a maximum of 10, which will provide it with the highest bonus, but this varies depending on the Pal.
The Bonus from Trust that Pals have will be applied after their Passive skills, being added after the Passive Skill bonus and any increase or decrease from them.
Trust Stats
Trust Level bonuses affect combat stats, which are the Attack and Defense stats of your Pals, which are mainly important for combat.
An increase in Attack will allow your Pals to dish out more damage when they attack your enemies with their Active Skills.
Defense, on the other hand, will increase their resistance to damage dealt by enemies, providing them with more survivability in combat.
How To Increase Pal Trust?
A Pal’s Trust Level will increase while they are in your Party, which means you don’t have to have them active to increase their trust.
As long as they are in your Party, their Trust Level will grow over time, and when their Trust Level increases, a notification will appear.
Your Pal’s Trust Level does not affect their Work Speed, making this necessary only for Pals that will be fighting. (Including those you want to be efficient at defending your base)
Trust Fruit
As mentioned above, the Kinship Peach, which has been given the nickname “Trust Fruit,” is an item that you will want to get your hands on from time to time.
This can be obtained from Bounty Officers using Bounty Tokens, obtaining it as loot from Enemy Bases, as well as picking it from the wild.
Having several Kinship Fruits ready is great for increasing the Trust Level of certain Pals, which can help prepare them for combat, boost fights, and even raids.
What Causes Trust to Decrease?
A Pal’s Trust Level can drop if it goes through repeated negative situations over time, which can happen even without you noticing.
Pals that are defeated in battle, often without being revived, may lose some trust, and the same can happen if they remain hungry for too long.
Constantly assigning them to work without rest or leaving them injured without healing can also result in a lower Trust Level.
Verdict
The Trust System is a good way to increase the overall stats of your Pals, which can be extremely useful when you are going up against tougher enemies.
While you are handling stuff at your base, it would be a good idea to take the time to keep certain Pals in your inventory so that you can increase their Trust Level.
When it comes to fighting bosses, aside from having your Pals at maxed level and condensed, having them with a maximum Trust Level will give you a better chance of success.
