Fighting Elite enemies can sometimes be tough, especially when you are playing on higher World Tiers where enemies can be quite punishing.
Luckily, certain Aspects can be used to upgrade your items to give you more survivability, such as the Aspect of the Protector.
The Aspect of the Protector grants your character extra protection while you are fighting an Elite enemy, which triggers once you attack them.
Aspect of the Protector Effects
Aspect of the Protector provides you with a Barrier that absorbs a certain amount of damage for 10 seconds when you damage an Elite enemy. (Has 30-Second Cooldown)
The Barrier will block damage from all sources, protecting you from any type of damage until the specified amount has been reached.
Once the Barrier is gone, you will take damage normally unless you attack an Elite enemy again after 30 seconds to generate another one.
How To Get Aspect of the Protector (Lost Archives Walkthrough)
1) Slay the Demonic Vanguard
There will be 2 enemies known as the Demonic Vanguard, which will be Skeew and Panca (Elite enemies) who you need to kill.
They can be found in the Lost Archives after wandering a bit in the Gateway to Learning and will be marked on your map with a skull icon.
2) Travel to Axial Chamber
After defeating the Demonic Vanguard, you will need to progress to the next area, which will be the Axial Chamber.
3) Return the Mechanical Box to the Pedestal
There will be 2 Mechanical Pedestals in the Axial Chamber and you will need to find Mechanical Boxes that need to be picked up and brought to each of them.
4) Activate the Necromancer’s Coffin
With the Mechanical Boxes now placed on the Mechanical Pedestals, you will now need to activate the Necromancer’s Coffin by interacting with it.
5) Defeat the Spiritcaller of Frost
An enemy called Spiritcaller of Frost will burst from within the coffin and you will need to defeat them, which will reward you with the Aspect of the Protector.
Aspect of the Protector Location (Lost Archives)
The Aspect of the Protector can be obtained from the Lost Archives dungeon, which can be found in the Desolate Highlands within the Fractured Peaks. (Southwest of Nevesk)
Verdict
The Spiritcaller of Frost is not that hard to defeat but you should watch out for some of its attacks as they can slow you and deal a good amount of damage.
Obtaining the Aspect of the Protector is great for when you want to bolster your defenses when you fight Elite enemies.
With a 30-second cooldown, the Barrier created by the Aspect of the Protector is very useful for hunting enemies, completing events, and exploring dungeons.
