Diablo’s Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim introduced several new features to the game, and along with these, a few reworks here and there.
One of these reworks is the Nightmare Dungeons, which have been improved a bit along with the addition of new affixes.
Thanks to these new affixes, you can comfortably grind even more as you put more of your time into Nightmare Dungeons as well as the new Escalating Nightmares.
New Nightmare Dungeon Affixes
Checking which affixes your Nightmare Sigils have can give you a hint when it comes to what you can expect when delving into these dungeons.
The following are new Nightmare Dungeon affixes that you might want to look out for:
1) Horadric Reserves
Horadric Reserves is one of the affixes that provide you with a decent way of farming certain items while you complete dungeons.
There will be a certain variation of these Horadric Reserves, which will cause Horadric Chests to appear in the dungeon that contain the specific type of loot from the affix.
The following are the different Horadric Reserve types and what they do:
- Horadric Gold Reserve – Chests contain tons of Gold
- Horadric [Seasonal Currency] Reserve – Chests contain Seasonal Currency (Example: Horadric Phial Reserve, which has chests that are filled with Horadric Phials)
- Horadric Gem Reserve – Chests will contain different types of Gems
- Horadric Materials Reserve – Chests will contain different Crafting Materials
- Horadric Obols Reserve – Chests contain Murmuring Obols
2) Equipment Delve
Equipment Delve is an affix that causes Horadric Artifacts to appear all over the Nightmare Dungeon or Escalating Nightmare.
Interacting with the Horadric Artifacts will allow you to pick them up, and multiple of these may be found while you are running the dungeon.
Once the dungeon has been completed, you will receive a Horadric Reward Cache, and the number of items within it depends on how many Horadric Artifacts you have found.
3) Power Shrines
Power Shrines is a type of affix that causes the dungeon you are delving into to have several shrines of the same type scattered within it.
The name of the affix will be different depending on what type of shrines you will find when you are inside the dungeon.
The following are the variations of this affix based on what shrines can spawn:
- Artillery Shrine
- Blast Wave Shrine
- Channeling Shrine
- Lethal Shrine
- Protection Shrine
4) Forgotten Wisdom
The Forgotten Wisdom affix is perfect for those who need to farm experience for leveling up their character or their Paragon Level.
While this affix is active, enemies that are killed have a chance to spawn Experience Orbs, which may be picked up for a certain amount of experience.
Additionally, while exploring the dungeon, you may find an Experience Well, which will provide you with 15% increased experience for 1 hour.
5) Treasure Breach
The Treasure Breach affix can be a bit chaotic, but fun, and a great way to get tons of loot if you happen to have this on your Nightmare Sigil or Escalating Sigil.
When a dungeon has this affix, a certain number of Treasure Goblins will end up invading the dungeon, and they may be killed for a lot of loot.
It is a good idea to focus on the Treasure Goblins when you spot them so that you can take them out and grab their loot before they escape.
6) Horadric Strongroom
While it is possible to find Horadric Strongrooms in any dungeon, this is mainly by chance, but things are different with this affix.
The Horadric Strongroom affix will provide you with a guaranteed chance to find a Horadric Strongroom within a dungeon.
This can be helpful for those who are trying to get their hands on certain Arcanas or for those who need to farm Horadric Phials.
Verdict
As you progress through this season, there will be several Nightmare Dungeons that you will be able to venture into, but the affixes are something you will want to pay attention to.
Depending on what affixes you are after, you can set aside the ones you want while the others can be salvaged for Sigil Powder to craft new sigils.
Keep in mind that doing Nightmare Dungeons and Escalating Nightmares on higher difficulties will provide you with more rewards than lower difficulties.
