Diablo 4 Arcanas (How to Get, Use & Arcanas List)

With the addition of Horadric Spellcrafting to Diablo 4’s Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim, you get to create certain spells using Catalysts, Infusions, and Arcanas.

While Catalysts provide the main spell that is added to a skill and Infusions alter the element, Arcanas provide additional effects, and you can equip up to 3 of them.

Obtaining Arcanas happens once you have progressed with your Horadric Knowledge, which later allows you to unlock them by delving into Horadric Strongrooms.

Where To Get Arcanas?

Arcanas are obtained from Horadric Strongrooms, but not all types of them drop when it comes to their rarity, as you need to progress first.

By doing the Horadric Strongroom activities found within Nightmare Dungeons and Escalating Nightmares, there is a chance for you to get them.

Not all Horadric Strongrooms may result in you obtaining an Arcana, but the chances are quite good, and you should be able to collect all sooner or later.

How To Get Arcanas?

Since there are 3 different rarities with the Arcanas, you will need to reach a certain tier with your Horadric Knowledge to obtain those that have a higher rarity.

Magic Arcanas can be obtained once you begin doing Horadric Strongrooms, while Rare and Legendary Arcanas require you to reach Tier 3 (Rare) and Tier 6 (Legendary) to find them.

A reward called “Rare Arcana” can be obtained at Tier 3, allowing you to obtain Rare Arcanas as drops from Horadric Strongrooms. (Opening the Horadric Cache)

Once you reach Tier 6, you can claim the “Legendary Arcana” reward, which allows Legendary Arcanas to drop from the Horadric Caches.

To obtain all Arcanas, you simply need to obtain both rewards to unlock the other rarities and continue to grind Horadric Strongrooms to get them to drop.

How To Use Arcanas?

To use an Arcana, open up your Horadric Spellcraft menu, which can be accessed when you open your inventory.

You may equip up to 3 out of the 20 different Arcanas at a time, and all of them will be active and have an effect on your Catalyst.

Legendary Arcanas will have specialized effects, which have certain effects based on the Catalyst that you have equipped.

Verdict

It is a good idea to check out what altered effect is added to your Catalyst when you use Legendary Arcanas, as this can help you with your builds.

Only 3 Arcanas can be equipped at a time, and this makes it necessary to plan out what effects you want to have for your Catalyst, as this will allow you to build powerful spells.

Obtaining all of the Arcanas can be done in a small amount of time as long as you have unlocked the ability to farm Rare and Legendary ones by claiming the rewards from the Horadric Focus.
