How to Get Shellcode Fragments in Destiny 2

If you are trying to get your hands on a Polymorphic Shellcode to gain access to the Partition missions in the Vex Incursion Zones, you will need to grab some Shellcode Fragments first.

Shellcode Fragments is not just a simple drop that you can later turn in to get Polymorphic Fragments though as you need to obtain a bounty from Nimbus First.

Destiny 2 Shellcode Fragments

Once you have enough Shellcode Fragments as well as another item listed in the weekly bounty from Nimbus, you can get a Shellcode Fragments.

Where to Get Shellcode Fragments?

Shellcode Fragments can be obtained in Neomuna but the area where you can farm them is specific as it can only be obtained in the Vex Incursion Zone.

The Vex Incursion Zone is an area that the Vex are currently invading and can be seen later on your map with an icon there will be more Vex activity in the area when you go there.

How to Get Shellcode Fragments?

Shellcode Fragments drop in the Vex Incursion Zone but this will only happen if you have obtained the weekly bounty from Nimbus that rewards a Polymorphic Shellcode.

You will need to use Strand abilities and weapons to make the Vex enemies drop Shellcode Fragments that are needed.

If you do not use Strand to defeat the Vex, you will not be able to obtain Shellcode Fragments in the Vex Incursion Zone even after obtaining the bounty.

Shellcode Fragments Use

Shellcode Fragments are required along with a Polymorphic Engine to complete the weekly bounty given by Nimbus.

The weekly bounty will allow you to obtain a Polymorphic Shellcode which can later be used to enter the Vex portal to the Partition missions.

Each week, you will be able to partake in the activity as Nimbus only offers the bounty once and you will need to wait for the next reset.

How To Start Nimbus Weekly Bounty?

To gain access to the weekly bounty from Nimbus that rewards you with a Polymorphic Shellcode, you will need to complete the Bluejay quest first.

This comes after you have completed Lightfall and have progressed through the mission given in the Hall of Heroes at Strider’s Gate.

After you have completed the Bluejay quest, you will be able to accept the weekly bounty from Nimbus after speaking to him at Strider’s Gate.

Why Shellcode Fragments Not Dropping?

If Shellcode Fragments are not dropping, this may be because you are not using Strand to deal damage to enemies.

You will need to get final blows while dealing Strand damage and if you are still not getting any, you should check the bounty.

It may be possible that you have already collected enough Shellcode Fragments and may now continue with the next objective or turn in the quest.
