Something has arrived on Earth and you have been sent to investigate along with The Drifter and Eris Morn as it seems there is activity on the once-dormant Dreadnaught.
Tragedy awaits as Eris Morn is put into danger and worse, leaving you and The Drifter to continue honoring her memory and figuring out what the Dire Taken have planned.
The Guardian must overcome the new challenges brought by the Dire Taken and put a stop to a new force of evil that threatens Earth and other parts of the system.
How To Get Echoed Warnings Quest?
The Act 1: Echoed Warnings quest becomes available upon logging into the game after the Heresy: Act 1 update, which you can find in your Quests Menu.
Logging into the game puts you in the Espial Mission which quickly takes you to the Recce Mission upon completion and during this time, you can already view the quest.
Act 1: Echoed Warnings Quest Steps (Objectives)
Week 1 Quest Steps
Step 1: Investigate the Taken neutrino burst found near Hangman’s Pass
This Quest Step puts you into the Espial Mission, which has you investigating the area where activity from the Dreadnaught has been discovered.
Completing the Espial Mission will allow you to complete this Quest Step and proceed with the Recce Mission afterward.
Step 2: Rendezvous with Drifter and Eris in the depths of the Dreadnaught
You may continue with the Recce Mission to complete this Quest Step, which involves you catching up to Drifter and Eris Morn after entering the Dreadnaught.
This is where Drifter becomes incapacitated, and you arrive just in time to resurrect him, but Eris Morn’s fate is different as she is beyond saving by the time you arrive.
Step 3: Go And Honor Eris’ Memory
Eris Morn has left something for you in her apartment and you will need to head to the Last City and find it to honor her memory.
You can find her apartment by heading into the alley to the left of the Tonic Laboratory (Go past the bar) and take a left once you reach the end.
Once you reach the entrance to the apartments, interact with the door, make your way all the way upstairs, and head for the last room, which will be Eris Morn’s apartment.
Head towards the table with a tome on it and you will be able to “Mourn In Silence” by interacting with it, which completes this Quest Step.
Step 4: Peer Into The Shaping Slab And Obtain A Tablet of Ruin
The Shaping Slab can be in the back of the room across the table with a tome on it, which you will need to interact with.
Interacting with the Shaping Slab (This is a Seasonal Vendor) will allow you to accept the Tablet of Ruin (Seasonal Artifact) and will complete this Quest Step.
Step 5: Unlock Episode: Heresy
This Quest Step serves as a dead end for those who have not unlocked the Episode: Heresy DLC, which requires you to purchase it before you can continue.
Step 6: Accept Mission Dossier: Blight from Beyond at the Shaping Slab in the Last City
Head back to Eris’ Flat and make your way to the Shaping Slab, which you will need to interact with to obtain the Mission Dossier: Blight from Beyond.
The Mission Dossier: Blight from Beyond provides you with objectives that need to be completed in Quest Step 7, which include gathering Dark Ritual Recon and Combatant Recon.
Step 7: Gather Recon by clearing encounters and slaying enemies within the Nether
Your next objective will be to obtain 2 different kinds of Recon, which will be from defeating enemies and completing Dark rituals that you find in the activity.
Start The Nether Activity and continue delving through the Nether until both objectives have been completed.
- Collect 3 Dark Ritual Recon
- Collect 20 Combatant Recon
Step 8: Follow Sloane’s mentorship and complete the “Trial of Resolve,” located at the Spine of Keres
Sloan will be waiting for you at the Spine of Keres, where she will teach you how to take control of Taken energy through the Trial of Resolve.
You will need to head to the Spine of Keres in the Dreaming City and follow her instructions as she guides you through the next steps.
Step 9: Visit the Shaping Slab within Eris’ apartment in the Last City
Head back to the Shaping Slab at Eris’ apartment and claim the rewards available to complete this Quest Step after you have completed the Trial of Resolve.
Step 10: Continue walking the Path of Resolve, hone your Taken power, and draw forth the Tome of Want from the Shaping Slab
Participate in the Nether activity to increase your Reputation Rank with the Shaping Slab until you can claim the Tome of Want. (Requires Rank 3)
Step 11: End of Week 1
This Quest Step tells you to “Train your mind in the rituals of the Tome of Want as Deputy CMDR Sloan assesses the intel you’ve recovered,” which marks the end of Week 1.
During the time that you are waiting for Week 2, you can continue grinding Episode: Heresy rewards or improve your character’s Power Level.
Week 2 Quest Steps
Step 12: Complete Mission Dossier: Anchored Thrones
The Mission Dossier: Anchored Thrones acts as a short in-game cutscene that requires you to make your way to the Temple of the Cunning on Savathun’s Throne World.
This can be done by tracking the Act I Echoed Warnings Quest and traveling to Quagmire, where you will follow the waypoint until you reach Savathun and speak to Drifter afterward.
Step 13: Search the Nether for remnants of the Skyburners’ deep-scan data (Skyburner Data)
You will be returning to the Nether once more to search for Skyburner Data, which can be obtained in various ways while you explore.
The most common way to obtain Skyburner Data is to destroy pots that you find and open chests as these have a chance to drop it.
Another way to obtain Skyburner Data would be to interact with the Data Chips that can be found near some of the dead Cabal that you encounter in the Nether. (Interact to scan with Ghost)
Step 14: Visit the Shaping Slab in the Last City
Head to the Shaping Slab in Eris Morn’s Apartment and claim the rewards after opening its menu to complete this quest step.
This will provide you with the following:
- Heretical Weapon
- Sigil Shards
- Essence of Desire
Step 15: End of Week 2
This Quest Step tells you to “Ponder the Tome of Want and employ your powers to drive back the scourge of Taken and Dream in the Nether while Sloane formulates a plan.”
This acts as the end of Act I: Echoed Warnings Part II for the second week and the next part of this quest will be unlocked next week.
Week 3 Quest Steps
Step 16: Complete Mission Dossiers
Deputy Commander Sloane plans to assault the Dreadnaught to nullify the Eversion Anchors that it releases.
You will need to access Sloane’s dossier at the Shaping Slab, acquire the Hive Hacking quests and complete them.
Make your way to the Shaping Slab in Eris Morn’s Apartment and access the Mission Dossiers on the second page of her menu.

- Complete Mission Dossier: Hive Hacking, Cultist’s Limb
- Complete Mission Dossier: Hive Hacking, Bladed Navigator’s Head
Step 17: Complete “Hive Hacking” Side Quests
This Quest Step repeats the previous ones from Quest Step 16 and will be completed once you have done all of the mentioned side quests.
- Complete all Quest Step 16 Mission Dossiers
Step 18: Board the Dreadnaught and disable the Weapon
Now that preparations have been made, you will need to board the dreadnaught and search for the weapon that needs to be disabled.
This will take place in the “Kludge” mission, which you may start by selecting Launch from the Quest Menu or The Last City destination.
Step 19: Escape the Dreadnaught and survive to tell the tale
This Quest Step takes place during the Kludge Mission, which requires you to escape from the Dreadnaught after disabling the weapon.
After you disable the weapon and encounter the Echo of Oryx and his sisters, you will need to flee to your ship. (This is easily done by running past combatants and following the waypoint)
Step 20: Return to Eris’s Apartment in the Last City
You will need to make your way to The Last City where a private call awaits you and this will allow you to gain insight regarding Drifter’s disappearance.
Head to the apartment and interact with the glowing orb to summon Ghost, who will reveal the message from Drifter.
Step 21: Visit the Shaping Slab in Eris’s apartment in the Last City
After the call from Drifter, make your way to the Shaping Slab and interact with it to claim your rewards for Act I: Echoed Warnings.
Act I: Echoed Warnings Rewards
Once you have reached Quest Step 21, you may claim your rewards from the Shaping Slab, which will include the following:
- Armaments of Resolve (Weapon Mod)
- Heretical Weapon
- Sigil Shards
- Essence of Desire
Regardless of which reward you choose, all of them will be obtained.
Verdict
The challenges that you face both on the Dreadnaught and in other locations will require a lot of effort as you progress to the end of this quest.
Ensuring that you participate in the Episode: Heresy activities can grant you a lot of loot, especially some useful gear for the upcoming weeks.
The majority of the Quest Steps involve this episode and its activities, which makes it worthwhile to continue farming whenever you are waiting for future Quest Steps or episodes.
Your attempt to take out the Dreadnaught did not go as planned and the Echo of Oryx remains on the ship while his siblings are set out to take over.
