Destiny 2 Recce Mission Walkthrough

After previously fighting a Taken Commander and making your way through a portal near the Dreadnaught’s anchor in the EDZ, you are taken to the Trenchway.

The Dreadnaught is nearby and you will need to fight your way to the portal that will take you inside and rendezvous with Drifter and Eris Morn.

Both of your allies have already made their way and trouble is spilling as the seconds go by and a devastating tragedy awaits.

How To Get Recce Mission?

The Recce Mission begins immediately after you have completed the Espial Mission, which leaves you traveling through Ascendant space.

After the Recce Mission, you begin in the Trenchway (Rings of Saturn) and may continue making your way to the Dreadnaught.

Recce Mission Walkthrough

Once the mission begins, you will need to make your way to the waypoint which marks a portal that will lead you into the Dreadnaught.

Continue by ascending the large tentacles and rock platforms until you reach this portal, which you will need to enter.

Keep in mind that there will be Dire Taken combatants in the area and you may either evade them or fight your way past them to reach the Dreadnaught.

After entering the portal, continue making your way to the next waypoint where you will need to find a way into the Hall of Souls.

Follow the waypoint and you will need to cross a large gap, which eventually leads you to a small entrance where a passage needs to be found.

One of the pathways across the gap will have a hole in the side and you can enter through there to continue heading towards the waypoint.

Making your way through the path will begin a cutscene where Drifter and Eris Morn are under attack, which ends with Eris Morn being impaled and taken away.

Drifter chases after them and jumps into the unknown in pursuit of Eris Morn and her captor before the cutscene ends.

Once the cutscene ends, make your way to the waypoint and you will encounter a boss named Felghul, The Requisitioner and you must defeat them.

The boss will continuously attack you while its minions swarm you and you must damage its health until portions of it are depleted.

When Felghul becomes immune after his health is reduced, you will need to defeat the minions in the area before you may continue attacking him.

After defeating Felghul, you will need to retrieve the artifact (Tablet of Ruin) located under the platform where you first encountered it to continue.

Upon taking the Tablet of Ruin, continue making your way to the Mausoleum, which will be marked by a waypoint and you will need to fight your way through enemies to get there.

Once you reach the Mausoleum, head down to the marked location and fight your way through the enemies until you reach a boss called The Resonant Knife, First of the Reshaped.

Several enemies will spawn and the boss will be immune to damage as it performs a ritual, which you must put a stop to.

To stop the ritual, you will need to destroy the marked Blight while surviving the oncoming attacks from the combatants in the area.

After enough of the Blight has been destroyed, the ritual will have been interrupted and you will need to head to the Drifter and interact with him. (Resurrect the Drifter)

Interacting with the Drifter will result in him being resurrected in a cutscene and he will take Eris’ body and begin to mourn her death.

Another cutscene begins when Eris Morn awakens in what appears to be her own Throne World, where she begins to laugh maniacally as the quest comes to an end.

Recce Mission Rewards

Completing the Recce Mission will result in you being able to progress with the Act I: Echoed Warnings quest.

Additionally, you will obtain XP and random Legendary Equipment that is briefly shown but can be found later in your inventory.

Summary

The Drifter and Eris Morn made it early to Dreadnaught and it seems they had been overpowered by the enemies, which led to Eris Morn’s death.

Although the Drifter was taken out, you arrived just in time to resurrect him but Eris Morn was already lost at this point.

While you and the Drifter survived and escaped, Eris Morn awakens in a Throne World, which reveals her to joyously laugh as she realizes what has happened.
