The Worldstone Keep Waking Nightmare brings back one of Diablo II’s most memorable journeys, taking you back to Mount Arreat in pursuit of Baal.
Reaching him requires fighting through several areas, defeating the three Ancients, and surviving the forces waiting within the Throne of Destruction.
At the end of the journey, you will face the Echo of Baal, making Worldstone Keep one of the major Waking Nightmares available in Season 15.
Worldstone Keep Location
The Diablo II – Worldstone Keep (Nightmare) Waking Nightmare is found in The Pallid Glade of the Fractured Peaks and becomes available once you reach Torment IV.
It serves as the Capstone for Season Rank V, with your first completion allowing you to advance into Season Rank VI.
Entering the Waking Nightmare takes you to the Ancients’ Way, where you can begin making your way toward the Arreat Summit and Worldstone Keep.
How To Complete Worldstone Keep Waking Nightmare?
After entering the Waking Nightmare, you will arrive in the Ancients’ Way and need to locate the exit leading toward the Arreat Summit.
Fight your way through the enemies encountered along the path while exploring until you eventually find the passage leading into the next area.
Once you reach the Arreat Summit, make your way toward the three Barbarian statues and interact with the Altar of the Heavens.
Doing this causes the statues to come to life, beginning a battle against the three Ancients: Madawc, Korlic, and Talic.
Defeat all three Ancients to continue, making sure to collect the large amount of loot they leave behind before moving toward the next area.
Continue onward into the Worldstone Keep, fighting through the enemies inside while searching for the entrance leading deeper into the dungeon.
Eventually, you will reach the Throne of Destruction, where Baal can be found waiting at the top of a flight of stairs.
Baal cannot be attacked during this encounter and will instead summon several groups of enemies that must be defeated before you can continue.
After defeating the enemies, Baal retreats through a portal that you can enter to pursue him into the Worldstone Chamber.
How To Defeat Echo of Baal?
Continue through the Worldstone Chamber until the Echo of Baal confronts you on the bridge, beginning the final encounter.
Attack Baal whenever possible while avoiding his attacks and repositioning whenever the area around your character becomes dangerous.
Baal will also summon Festering Appendages during the battle, which can become a nuisance but are easily destroyed before returning your attention to the boss.
Once the Echo of Baal is defeated, the Worldstone Keep Waking Nightmare will be completed and its remaining rewards can be collected.
Worldstone Keep Rewards
Worldstone Keep provides a considerable amount of loot throughout the dungeon, particularly after defeating the three Ancients and the Echo of Baal.
Defeating Baal can also provide the Splinter of Destruction, allowing you to wield Baal’s Prime Evil Power or switch back to his Splinter when using another one.
The Nightmare version of Worldstone Keep is also a major Season Rank milestone, with its Torment IV version required to advance into Season Rank VI.
Tips For Worldstone Keep
The Worldstone Keep Waking Nightmare is considerably longer than the standard Waking Nightmares, so focus on locating each area’s exit rather than clearing every enemy.
Make sure to collect the rewards dropped by Madawc, Korlic, and Talic, as defeating the Ancients can provide a surprisingly large amount of loot before reaching Baal.
During the final encounter, quickly destroy any Festering Appendages that begin interfering with the fight before continuing to damage the Echo of Baal.
