The World Tree is filled with dangerous environments, but the corrosive mist found around Rotmist Root can be especially difficult to deal with without the right protection.
Toxin Filtering Membrane is a rare material taken from Dandilord, whose unique biology allows it to filter the same corrosive mist that makes the surrounding area so dangerous.
You will need this material to craft the Corrosive Mist Mask, making it an important resource if you plan to explore the toxic areas of the World Tree for longer periods.
How To Get Toxin Filtering Membrane?
Toxin Filtering Membrane is obtained from Bewitching Lurker Dandilord, the Alpha Dandilord encounter found within the World Tree.
Defeating the Alpha Dandilord provides 5–10 Toxin Filtering Membranes, with the current drop table listing the material at a 100% drop rate.
There are currently no recorded crafting, treasure, shop, or other Pal drop sources for the material, making Dandilord the source you need to target when you want more.
Where To Find Dandilord?
Bewitching Lurker Dandilord can be found in the Rotmist Root area of the World Tree, inside the boss encounter accessed through the surrounding cave system.
The route takes you through the toxic section of the World Tree, so arriving at the boss can be dangerous if you are not prepared for the environmental hazards.
Once you reach the encounter, defeat Dandilord to collect the Toxin Filtering Membrane before returning to farm the fight again.
Toxin Filtering Membrane Uses
Toxin Filtering Membrane is currently used to craft the Corrosive Mist Mask, an endgame accessory designed for surviving the corrosive mist found around the World Tree.
The Corrosive Mist Mask requires 10 Toxin Filtering Membranes and 30 Toxin Filtering Membranes and is crafted at an Ancient Workbench after unlocking its Technology recipe.
The mask protects against the corrosive environment and provides Toxic Gas Immunity, making exploration through these dangerous areas much safer.
Best Way To Farm Toxin Filtering Membrane
Dandilord is the only recorded source, so the fastest method is simply to repeat the Alpha encounter whenever you need additional membranes.
Each defeat provides 5–10 membranes, meaning a single successful run can provide a substantial portion of what you need for the Corrosive Mist Mask.
Capturing Dandilord is also worth considering if you do not already have it, allowing you to add the rare Pal to your collection while obtaining the material.
Verdict
Toxin Filtering Membrane has a very specific purpose, but that purpose makes it an important material once you start pushing deeper into the World Tree.
Dandilord provides a generous 5–10 membranes per defeat, so you can build the supply needed for your mask without an excessively long farming session.
Once you have the Corrosive Mist Mask equipped, the most dangerous toxic areas become much more manageable, opening up more of the World Tree for exploration and resource gathering.
