How To Get Cold Food Box in Palworld

If you are tired of your food spoiling, you may want to consider an alternative to the standard Food Box that is available during the earlier parts of the game.

As you reach higher levels, you will eventually be able to unlock the Cold Food Box, which is similar to its standard variant except for its ability to preserve food.

The Cold Food Box can be a vital addition to your base if you decide on feeding your Pals cooked food, which should make everything you store in it last longer.

How To Unlock and Build Cold Food Box?

Unlocking the Cold Food Box may take a while if you have just started a new game since this can only be done once you reach Level 51.

Upon reaching Level 51, you may unlock the Cold Food Box from your Technology Menu at the cost of 2 Technology Points.

Building the Cold Food Box will require the following materials:

  • 20 Pal Metal Ingot
  • 20 Plasteel
  • 50 Ice Organ

Cold Food Box Uses

The Cold Food Box works just like a standard Food Box, which allows you to place food inside of its inventory but there is one slight difference.

This structure does not only allow Pals to consume the food inside of it, but the Cold Food Box also preserves the food in its inventory as long as an Ice Pal is assigned to it.

Place the food that you want inside of the Cold Food Box and assign an Ice Pal to it so that you won’t have to worry about the food inside spoiling too fast.

Do You Need To Refrigerate Food?

Refrigerating food may not seem to be something important in the long run but you may want to consider that certain cooked foods provide good buffs to your Pals.

Pals that are working at your base may benefit from these buffs, which makes it a good idea to prevent your supply from spoiling too fast so that there is more to go around.

Aside from being a good way to keep your Pals fed, you may also utilize the other slots in a Cold Food Box to store items so that you don’t need a Refrigerator for 1 or 2 items.

Verdict

Most players tend to spam Red Berries for their bases to keep their Pals fed but if you have food items that boost Work Speed and reduce Sanity Drain, things are different.

Keeping a Cold Food Box with food preserved inside of it can prevent food from running out too fast and this is important if the food you had cooked is costly on ingredients.

Using a single Ice Pal and a Cold Food Box can eliminate the need for a standard Food Box and a Refrigerator as it provides both preservation and feeds your Pals.
