Warframe: How To Get Sabot Rounds & Its Effects

Sabot Rounds is a rare Archgun mod that provides a significant boost to your weapon’s damage, making it highly valuable for players who rely on heavy firepower.

This mod is mainly dropped by Gyre Raiders and also has a small chance of being obtained from the Profit Taker, though its drop rate remains quite low.

As Archguns have become more essential in various missions and can now be deployed without using an Archwing, Sabot Rounds have once again become highly sought after.

Where To Get Sabot Rounds?

Since the drop chance from the Profit Taker is quite low, a more efficient method to obtain Sabot Rounds is by defeating Gyre Raiders instead.

These enemies can be encountered while exploring missions in Earth Proxima and Saturn Proxima, making those locations the preferred farming spots for this mod.

How To Get Sabot Rounds?

While the Profit Taker fight has a chance to drop Sabot Rounds, repeating the encounter can be time-consuming compared to farming Grineer enemies in Railjack missions.

Defeating Gyre Raiders offers a more consistent method for obtaining this mod, provided you can trigger their appearance during your Railjack runs.

Gyre Raiders spawn when your ship is hit by a Gyre Ramsled, making it ideal to run missions in the Saturn Proxima, where these enemies appear more frequently.

To farm them efficiently, allow your Railjack to be struck by a Gyre Ramsled, then eliminate the boarding party that follows for a chance to obtain Sabot Rounds.

The following enemies will board your ship after a Gyre Ramsled:

  • Gyre Raider
  • Gyre Raider Carver
  • Gyre Raider Eviscerator

Sabot Rounds Effects

At its maximum rank, Sabot Rounds increase your Archgun’s damage by 60% while also granting an additional +3 Punch Through for each shot fired.

This effect applies not only in Railjack and Archwing missions but also in standard missions where your Archgun can be deployed via the Gravimag system.

The added damage and Punch Through allow your Archgun’s projectiles to penetrate enemies and certain surfaces, making it far more effective in clearing groups of foes.

Verdict

The increased damage provided by Sabot Rounds benefits your Archgun in nearly every situation, especially when the added Punch Through helps deal with clustered enemies or cover.

Although the drop rate is quite low, obtaining Sabot Rounds is well worth the effort, as the upgrade significantly boosts your weapon’s overall effectiveness in combat.

For those who prefer trading, Sabot Rounds can also be purchased from other players, but their rarity has raised their market value, making them a good source of Platinum if you have extras.
