Predator Cores are a type of material that was added in the Feybreak Update and as its name and description hint, they come from Predator Pals.
Obtaining this material requires that you locate some of the more dangerous Pals found across the islands, but they can sometimes be elusive.
Certain items that have been added to the game when the Feybreak Update came out require Predator Cores to craft, which requires you to hunt down Predator Pals.
How To Get Predator Cores?
Predator Cores only drop from Predator Pals, which are like Field Bosses that spawn in fixed locations at certain times. (They do not have guaranteed spawns or markers on the map)
You will have to visit the locations where they are encountered to check if they spawn or else come back later if they are not there.
All Predator Pals will stay in the same location, but some will only be available during the night, making it important to keep track of their location and spawn time.
Predator Pals will always have a glowing red eye along with a red aura visible, making it easy to spot them from a distance.
Predator Core Uses
Currently, there are 5 items that have been added in the Feybreak Update that require Predator Cores for crafting.
The following items require Predator Cores:
- Meowmere (Legendary Sword)
- Small Pouch
- Medium Pouch
- Large Pouch
- Giant Pouch
Best Way To Farm Predator Cores
The best way to get your hands on a lot of Predator Cores is to target the higher-level Predator Pals as they often drop more Predator Cores. (Check our guide mentioned earlier for this)
Choosing a route to follow when checking for Predator Pals can help you create a routine to get enough Predator Pals with each run.
Sticking to the lower-level Pals is fine since you only need a certain amount to craft Meowmere and the other pouches but going for the higher-level ones can make everything faster.
Verdict
Obtaining Predator Cores can be a bit difficult if you are just starting since the Predator Pals can be dangerous for new characters.
It is advisable to bring strong weapons and fight alongside Pals that you have leveled up or even bred to take out the Predator Pals quickly.
One of the main uses of Predator Cores is for the pouches that are unlocked under Ancient Technology as these increase the amount of slots in your inventory.
