Horadric Tomes are a type of item that was introduced in Diablo 4’s Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim that allow you to unlock Horadric Jewel Recipes.
These are important for Season 9 as the Horadric Jewels that you craft provide your character with certain bonuses when you equip them, and there are 16 different ones to choose from.
Each Horadric Jewel will require that you find the Horadric Tome to unlock their recipe, though, which makes it necessary to do a bit of grinding if you want them.
Where To Get Horadric Tomes?
Aside from the very first Horadric Tome that you can get, which is claimed from the Horadric Focus after you have reached Tier 10, the others come from Horadric Strongrooms.
By delving into Horadric Strongrooms, there will be a chance to be rewarded upon completion of the activity.
How To Get Horadric Tomes?
To get Horadric Strongrooms, make sure that you have reached Tier 10 with your Horadric Knowledge and have claimed the reward.
Continue progressing with your character until you have reached Torment I, which is a requirement for Horadric Tomes to drop.
Once the following conditions have been met, you may obtain Horadric Tomes by opening Horadric Caches, which appear after a Horadric Strongroom boss has been killed.
Horadric Tome Uses
Horadric Tomes are used to unlock Horadric Jewel Recipes, which allow you to craft a specific Horadric Jewel based on which Tome you have used.
Horadric Jewels are socketable items that may be inserted into your jewelry to provide you with certain bonuses based on which one you use.

Verdict
If you have several Nightmare Sigils to spare, a quick way to farm Horadric Tomes would be to skip to the next Nightmare Dungeon after completing a Horadric Strongroom.
It is a good idea to use Horadric Tomes once you get them, as this will allow you to obtain ones for Horadric Jewels that you have not yet unlocked, instead of getting duplicates.
With a total of 16 Horadric Jewels available to be unlocked, you will be able to utilize 3 at a time, as there is only 1 socket per piece of jewelry.
