The Draught of Whispers is a consumable that was introduced in the Season of Witchcraft, which provides those who use it with a better chance of finding Forgotten Altars.
Additionally, the Draught of Whispers also provides a better chance for players to encounter a Fugitive Head boss, making it easier to obtain Fugitive Heads.
While obtaining a Draught of Whispers may not be the easiest thing to do, you will eventually be able to grab some as long as you focus on the right activities.
How To Get Draught of Whispers?
1) Uprooting Exposed Roots
Uprooting Exposed Roots is the best and easiest way to obtain Draught of Whispers but these won’t always drop them and you will need to do a bit of grinding.
Exposed Roots will appear in Headhunt Zones as well as Rootholds and interacting with them will always provide a small chance for a Draught of Whispers to drop.
2) Whisper Caches
If you happen to be collecting Grim Favors and tend to turn them in often to get Whisper Caches, there is a good chance that you can get a Draught of Whispers.
Whenever you open a Whisper Cache from the Tree of Whispers or the Raven of the Tree, there is a small chance a Draught of Whispers may drop.
3) Coven’s Cache
Progressing with your Coven’s Favor will allow you to obtain rewards as your rank increases and you can get different Coven Caches as rewards.
Some of these have a chance to reward you with a Draught of Whispers but this is not considered the most reliable way to obtain them.
How To Use Draught of Whispers?
Using a Draught of Whispers is as simple as heading to the consumables section of your inventory and selecting it from there.
Once you consume a Draught of Whispers, the chances of you finding a Forgotten Altar in any dungeon increase but this will just be by a small percentage.
Additionally, you have a better chance of running into a Fugitive Head Boss, which can be defeated to obtain a Fugitive Head. (Used for Occult Crafting)
Verdict
The best way for you to obtain a Draught of Whispers is to rely on uprooting Exposed Roots as these can commonly be found often in the right areas.
While the Draught of Whispers provides you with better chances to find Forgotten Altars and encounter Fugitive Heads, this bonus is only a small fraction.
With or without a Draught of Whispers, you should be able to grind for everything during the season but the small bonus it provides is better than nothing, especially on higher World Tiers.
