Obtaining Grim Favors can be done in several ways and needs to be collected every time you obtain a reward from the Tree of Whispers.
When it comes to obtaining Grim Favors, you have a lot of options as several activities provide them, and collecting these may be a grind but are worth the effort.
How to Get Grim Favors?
Grim Favors are obtained by completing Whispers, which are found in 3 types of locations that can be seen on the map when they are active.
These locations include Seasonal Zones such as Headhunt Activity Zones (Season of Witchcraft), Helltide Zones (Distinguishable by red-shaded areas) and the Fields of Hatred.
Each of these zones will have Whispers that you can complete, which can be done by doing the objectives required.
Completing a Whisper (Silencing a Whisper) will reward you with a certain number of Grim Favors which is often based on the difficulty of the objectives.
How To Use Grim Favors?
Collecting 10 Grim Favors will allow you to collect rewards from the Tree of Whispers, which provides you with a choice amongst 3 rewards.
To do this, fast travel to the Tree of Whispers and interact with it and a menu with 3 different choices will appear.
Choose the type of reward you want, and you will receive a cache that may be opened for a ton of loot that will drop to the ground.
Tree of Whisper Rewards
The Tree of Whisper will provide you with a random set of 3 different caches for you to choose from and these will be different each time.
The following caches can appear as rewards from the Tree of Whispers that may include a main item depending on what you choose:
- Collection of Chestplates
- Collection of Boots
- Greater Collection of Rings
- Collection of Helms
- Collection of Chaos (Random Items)
- Greater Collection of Chaos (Random Items)
- Collection of Gauntlets
- Collection of One-Handed Weapons
- Collection of Two-Handed Weapons
- Collection of Leg Guards
Best Way To Collect Grim Favors
The best way to obtain Grim Favors would be to head to either the Seasonal Activity Zones or to Helltide Zones as these have the most Whispers.
Complete as many Whispers as you can until you have enough or move on to the next area if none are left or if the zone moves to another location.
Make sure to swap your old equipment for better ones and make upgrades, if possible, to complete the objectives faster.
