Bartering is a new feature that was added with the Vessel of Hatred Expansion, which allows you to obtain a lot that can be purchased with a new currency called Pale Marks.
The loot that you can purchase with Pale Marks depends on how much you have progressed with the mercenaries, which makes progress with all of them yield more options.

How To Unlock Bartering?
Bartering can be unlocked once you have reached Rank 5 with any of the mercenaries that you have hired and have progressed with.
Once you have reached Rank 5, you will get a quest called Bartering and may head to The Den to complete it and unlock the feature.
How To Use Bartering Feature?
Once Bartering is unlocked, you may speak with Fayira (Raheir’s Daughter) and this will open a menu to show what items are available.
The more upgrades you have unlocked, the more items will be available for you to purchase with the use of Pale Marks.
Upgrades are obtained by increasing your rank with different Mercenaries, which can be done by earning Rapport with them. (Completing activities or killing worthy foes with Mercenaries)
How To Get Pale Marks?
Pale Marks are required for trading with Fayira and these can be obtained when you have a Mercenary hired.
You can obtain Pale Marks by gaining Mercenary Rapport and claiming the rewards from their menu or by completing events with a Mercenary.
Restock Supply
You may restock the supply in the Bartering Menu to refresh the available items, which syncs the available equipment to your level.
The more you restock the Bartering supply, the more Pale Marks you will need to pay, which makes it best to save up first.
