The Barrow-Dyad has a lot of potential and one of the ways to make it even better is by adding a Catalyst trait to it.
One of these traits includes the High-Impact Reserves Refit, which can be a good way to bolster the amount of damage that you do with the weapon.
High-Impact Reserves Refit is perfect for making every shot count, especially the last rounds of a magazine since this Catalyst makes them deal more damage.
How To Get High-Impact Reserves Refit Catalyst?
High-Impact Reserves Refit can be obtained by grabbing an Exotic Quest called A Needle’s Path from the Shaping Slab and completing it.
Once you have installed the High-Impact Reserves Refit on the Barrow-Dyad, it will cause the rounds at the end of the weapon’s magazine to deal more damage.
This can be helpful especially since Guardians tend to expand the whole magazine and fire off bursts from the part of the magazine that replenishes before reloading.
How To Get A Needle’s Path Quest?
A Needle’s Path is obtained from the Shaping Slab but to get this Exotic Quest, you must first obtain the Sharp Osseous Spine.
The Sharp Osseous Spine will later allow you to obtain A Needle’s Path once you interact with the Shaping Slab.
How To Get Sharp Osseous Spine?
To get the Sharp Osseous Spine, you will need to do the Court of Blades activity while on Expert Difficulty with the Barrow-Dyad equipped.
It is said that you can use any Submachine Gun during the Court of Blades but we stuck with the Barrow-Dyad to be sure.
You don’t have to complete several attempts when doing this and instead, finishing the last boss after the timer runs out counts.
The Sharp Osseous Spine may be taken to the Shaping Slab, where it may be traded for the Exotic Quest called A Needle’s Path.
A Needle’s Path Quest Walkthrough
Step 1: Upgrade your pursuit of the Path of Resolve to its highest potential
Quest Step 1 of A Needle’s Path requires that you increase your reputation while on the Path of Resolve to obtain Path Masteries from the Shaping Slab.
You will need to obtain the first 3 Path Masteries from the Shaping Slab while Path of Resolve is active, which requires you to be at Rank 12 or higher.
This includes the following Path Masteries:
- Steel Your Nerves
- Unbreakable Will
- Moment of Clarity
Step 2: Complete a Court of Blades activity on Expert Difficulty
After obtaining the Path Masteries required in Quest Step 1, you may proceed with the last objective for the Exotic Quest.
This requires that you complete a Court of Blades activity on Expert Difficulty using specific types of weapons and the Barrow-Dyad.
This includes the following weapons:
- Scout Rifles
- Linear Fusion Rifles
- Sniper Rifles
Since you will need to complete the Court of Blades activity on Expert Difficulty, it would be ideal to find a Fireteam to join to make things easier.
However, since you cannot fail the activity and just need to wait out the timer before defeating one last boss, you can do this solo.
Verdict
The High-Impact Reserves Refit trait is a great addition to the Barrow-Dyad Catalyst, since you may often end up using small amounts of rounds that are refilled.
This makes it easy to make use of the bonus damage provided by the High-Impact Reserves Refit trait since you can keep on shooting an almost empty magazine.
Obtaining the Sharp Osseous Spine and completing A Needle’s Path is very easy since you only need to defeat one boss in the Court of Blades if the timer tends to run out.
