The Court of Blades is an activity that has been added in Episode: Heresy Act II and acts as a new activity for players during the episode.
Pushing Guardians into challenge after challenge, this activity will have you completing multiple rounds until your time is up.
Those who can reach certain scores will be able to reap multiple rewards depending on how successful their runs are.
How To Unlock Court of Blades?
The Court of Blades will be unlocked for those who have logged in after Episode: Heresy Act II has become live.
This activity is also one of the first things you will be doing if you are focusing on completing Act II: Rites of the Deep quest. (Part of Act II)
How To Start Court of Blades?
To start the Court of Blades activity, you may open your Destinations Menu and select The Last City where other Episode: Heresy activities may be found.
This activity may be found next to The Nether activity and may be started, which will begin a matchmaking that will put you in a fireteam if available.
Court of Blades Mechanics
Neutralize Hostiles
Once the activity begins, head through the barrier and go through it to start fighting off the combatants in the area.
There will be a fixed number of combatants that you need to defeat and once this is done, the preparation phase will begin. (Kneel/Prepare)
Prepare
There will be 3 spots in the area (less if a player has left the activity) that each Guardian will need to stand on to proceed.
Once each of the Guardians in the activity is standing in the marked areas, a portal will open that lets you begin the next objective.
During the preparation phase, you may head to the back and use runes that you have obtained to purchase buffs that last during the activity.
Complete Objectives
The portal will take you into one of the many areas where a round starts, and you will need to complete the objective.
Once you are in the area, you will need to face off against combatants and bosses but defeating them won’t be that simple.
There will be augments that need to be considered and before defeating the bosses, you will need to complete certain tasks.
These tasks may include standing in the correct rune circle to make bosses vulnerable, destroying crystals, defeating marked combatants, and more.
Once a boss has been defeated or an objective has been completed, you will need to return to the Hall of Souls where the preparation phase starts again.
You will need to complete multiple rounds to collect runes, which will add to your overall score that determines your Challengers Defeated Rank.
How To Purchase Rune Buffs?
To purchase buffs, head to the hall at the back where the preparation phase takes place and interact with the buff you wish to obtain.
Some buffs can only be purchased once per fireteam, making it necessary to spend your runes on what your fireteam will need.
There are different tiers of buffs that you can purchase and the amount of runes you get depends on your performance with each round.
Court of Blades Rewards
Depending on the number of runes that you have obtained, or the Challengers Defeated score, you will obtain various rewards from a chest that appears at the end.
The chest will appear after the final round, which is the last round that you run in the activity once the 10-minute timer is up.
You may obtain rewards such as Legendary weapons, armor, and materials once the chest at the end has been opened.
Additionally, there will be a Taken Altar that will be sacrificed to Metastasized Essentia for even more rewards similar to those from Eris Morn’s apartment.
The amount of Metastasized Essentia will be reduced depending on your Challengers Defeated score, such as Silver requiring 10 and Gold requiring only 5.
Verdict
The Court of Blades is a quick way for you to get Episode: Heresy rewards, which mainly are the armor and weapons from the episode.
If you have farmed a lot of Metastasized Essentia, you can save these for later when you do the Court of Blades activity to maximize your rewards.
You will often be matched with other Guardians to form a fireteam and when doing the activity, there are no limits when it comes to revives.
