How To Get Hatchling Refit Catalyst For Barrow-Dyad in Destiny 2

The Barrow-Dyad is a powerful weapon on its own but with the ability to reshape the weapon, you can modify it to alter its stats.

Aside from adjusting its stats through different weapon perks, one of the Catalysts that you can add to this weapon is Hatchling Refit.

Hatchling Refit provides the Barrow-Dyad to spawn Threadlings, making it easier to deal more damage to your enemies with these little Strand crawlers.

How To Get Barrow-Dyad Hatchling Refit Catalyst?

Hatchling Refit is one of the Catalysts that can be unlocked for the Barrow-Dyad, which can be obtained by completing an Exotic Quest called A Hammer’s Path.

Once the Hatchling Refit has been equipped on the Barrow-Dyad, Precision Final Blows or rapidly defeating targets with this weapon cause it to spawn Threadlings.

Threadlings will be spawned at the location where the target has been defeated and will continue to attack nearby enemies.

How To Get A Hammer’s Path Quest?

To get A Hammer’s Path, you will need to obtain the Heavy Osseous Spine in the Trenchway and bring it to the Shaping Slab.

Interacting with the Shaping Slab after you have obtained the Heavy Osseous Spine will allow you to claim A Hammer’s Path. (Exotic Quest)

How To Get Heavy Osseous Spine?

To get the Heavy Osseous Spine, you will need to do The Nether activity and reach the Trenchway to find a hidden entrance.

This can be found near the crossing close to the location where the Fire Crystal appears and once you head to the ledge, jumping will reveal a hidden platform.

Making your way to the entrance will cause other platforms to appear, allowing you to cross over and jump into the cave-like section.

You will find an object that you can interact with that will open a portal, which will lead you to a small room with chests.

If you cannot interact with the Rites of the Deep Tithe due to being “unworthy,” you will need to obtain Coalescences of Sorrow.

Coalescences of Sorrow can be obtained by discovering different secrets within The Nether, which include those from different areas.

Opening one of these chests will provide you with rewards, which include the Heavy Osseous Spine that can be brought to the Shaping Slab.

Once you go to the Shaping Slab with the Heavy Osseous Spine, you will be able to trade it in for the quest called A Hammer’s Path.

A Hammer’s Path Quest Walkthrough

Step 1: Upgrade your pursuit of the Path of Ambition to its highest potential

Your first step requires that you increase your reputation with the Path of Ambition so that you can collect Path Masteries from the Shaping Slab.

This requires that you unlock the first 3 Path of Ambition upgrades, which will require that you reach at least Reputation Rank 12 to get all of them.

This includes the following Path Masteries:

  • Ardent Force
  • Undying Hunger
  • Sumptuous Repast

Step 2: Complete the Nether activity on Expert difficulty using only close-range weapons

Now that you have obtained the required Path Masteries, your next task will be to complete The Nether activity on Expert difficulty using certain weapons.

This includes the following weapons:

  • Shotguns
  • Glaives
  • Swords

Additionally, the Barrow-Dyad will also need to be equipped for this quest to be completed but this only must be done at the end. (Catalyst drops when the activity is completed)

If you desire to use different weapons to complete The Nether, you can resort to equipping the Barrow-Dyad and the close-range weapons before opening the last boss’s chest.

For Guardians who have difficulty soloing The Nether on Expert Difficulty, you may resort to using the Fireteam Finder to join those who are doing the same task.

Verdict

Threadlings spawned by the Barrow-Dyad can be a big help when it comes to defeating groups of enemies or focusing a lot of damage on tougher combatants.

Those who have already increased their Reputation Level and have obtained the required upgrades will go straight to Quest Step 2 when A Hammer’s Path is acquired.

Running The Nether on Expert Difficulty will put you against more powerful enemies and it is recommended to join a Fireteam or to be careful as you progress.
