Warframe: War Prime (How To Get & Builds)

One of the biggest surprises introduced in the Jade Shadows: Constellations update came from a mysterious blueprint that many players initially overlooked.

That blueprint ultimately revealed War Prime, bringing a Prime version of the iconic Sentient greatsword into the game for the first time.

Designed for aggressive melee combat, War Prime combines strong critical and status capabilities with heavy Slash damage to cut through enemies with ease.

How To Get War Prime?

War Prime is obtained by purchasing Hunhow’s Trinket from Hunhow at the Pontis Tower, which serves as the weapon’s hidden blueprint and acquisition method.

Hunhow’s Trinket costs 12 Crimson Talents and 12 Emerald Talents, both of which are earned from the new Uranus Proxima Railjack missions introduced in the update.

After crafting Hunhow’s Trinket in the Foundry and claiming the completed item, it is revealed to be War Prime and added directly to your arsenal.

The following are the Crafting Requirements for Hunhow’s Trinket:

  • 15,000 Credits
  • 1 Orokin Cell
  • 1 Argon Crystal
  • 5 Nitain Extract

War Prime Builds

1) Maiming Strike Build (Critical Build)

One of the older builds utilized with some of the most popular weapons, the Maiming Strike build features mods that improve Critical Chance & Damage.

Known as a spin to win build, this allows you to build up your Combo Multiplier, which increases your Critical Chance thanks to Blood Rush as well as Maiming Strike with Slide Attacks.

With this build, you can jump into the battle, unleash deadly swings followed by Slide Attacks to deal insane amounts of damage, or simply repeat Slide Attacks until no enemy remains in sight.

2) Galvanized Elementalist Build (Status Build)

With War Prime’s high Status Chance, certain Status Builds can help you dominate your enemies, allowing you to apply certain and several Status Effects.

This allows you to not only deal high amounts of damage to enemies with the increased base damage from the mods, but it also causes them to suffer from the debuffs they are affected by.

Condition Overload makes the weapon deal even more damage based on the amount of Status Effects, while Galvanized Elementalist boosts your Status Chance based on your Combo Multiplier.

3) Condition Overload Build (Critical Build)

This is a modified version of the usual Critical Build that most weapons have, providing you with the ability to deal more damage by boosting Critical Chance with Blood Rush.

The twist here is that we have added Condition Overload to utilize its effect, boosting your damage to enemies based on how many Status Effects they suffer from.

Using another Primary or Secondary weapon to inflict Status Effects is vital, and after a few hits and when enemies are debuffed, you may then slice them up with War Prime.

4) Hybrid Build (Critical & Status Build)

Combining both Critical and Status builds, a Hybrid Build can sometimes be useful depending on what Primary and Secondary weapons you use, as well as what Warframe you utilize.

This retains the Blood Rush mod for building up Critical Chance and Condition Overload to deal even more damage to enemies that have been primed.

It is possible to replace some of the mods with more of the Elemental Mods to add more damage and increase the Status Chance of this build if you can make up for which ones you replace.

Verdict

War Prime lives up to the reputation of the original weapon, offering a stronger version of the iconic Sentient greatsword with excellent offensive potential.

Whether you focus on critical strikes, status effects, or a hybrid setup, the weapon has enough flexibility to perform well across different types of content.

Now that the mystery behind Hunhow’s Trinket has been revealed, War Prime stands as one of the most memorable and unexpected weapon additions introduced in recent updates.
