After previously taking out the Dampening Mind Minotaurs around the Golden Age Lab, you set your focus now on more Vex Activity.
The Vex have been refining the power of The Nine and are attempting to utilize it to raze their technology to ashes.
You will need to interfere with what the Vex are doing before you continue your search for the Strangelet Capsule in The Gorge.
How To Get Calculus Mission?
Calculus becomes available after you have completed an encounter called Siphon, which can be tracked while you are doing Quest Step 2 of “The Gorge Strangelet” quest.
The Siphon encounter can be done once you have completed Disruption, which can be started after completing the “Surveillance” encounter, also located in The Gorge.
Calculus Mission Walkthrough
Calculus begins with you in the Assimilate Easement, where you will be taking a train portal to a path that leads to The Stellar Sink.
Continue making your way towards the waypoint while crossing gaps, which eventually leads you to a small entrance that requires you to use Matterspark.
At the end of your path will be a Conflux Pylon, and while you have Matterspark active, proceed by unleashing a blast to destroy it.
The next area will be filled with combatants from the House of Exile, who appear to be doing some mining of their own.
Defeat all of the House of Exile combatants before you begin making your attempt to destroy the Eclipse Energy Converters, which are guarded by Vex combatants.
Defeating the Vex Combatants guarding the Vex Cubes in the area will allow you to destroy the Eclipse Energy Converters protected by them. (There are 2 of them)
Proceed to the next area, and you will encounter Aphomosis Assimilation Mind, and these bosses can’t be defeated easily because they eventually become immune to damage.
After dealing a certain amount of damage, they become invulnerable, and you will have to search for a Matterspark device that is needed to take down their shields.
Continue with the process of removing their shields and attacking them until they are defeated, and shortly after, the quest will come to an end.
Calculus Mission Rewards
At certain points in this mission, some enemies may drop Glimmer, materials, and even gear from time to time, and a loot chest appears upon its completion.
The loot chest will contain Glimmer, materials, and legendary gear and will open automatically when the mission ends.
Additionally, completing the Calculus mission will allow you to progress with “The Gorge Strangelet” quest.
Verdict
It appears the Vex were attempting to utilize The Nine for shielding themselves, which seems like a way to improve their combat capabilities.
Thanks to your efforts, the Vex have been put back a few steps behind, and things are a bit safer for the Aionians.
Another Strangelet Capsule has now been revealed, and this time, you are surely going to be able to get your hands on it.
