Avionics are like the mods for the Railjack and they provide different benefits depending on which ones are equipped.
There are 3 different kinds of Avionics which each complement your playstyle depending on what you choose to use.
The types of Avionics are Integrated, Battle and Tactical and each type may only be equipped within its given slots.
Not only do the Avionics provide ships with bonus stats but there are also avionics such as the Battle and Tactical avionics which grant the Railjack the possibility of using abilities.
Avionics may also be scrapped for additional Dirac if there are duplicates or unwanted ones that have been acquired.
Avionics
Avionics are mainly used to upgrade your Railjack and there are many stats that may be affected and the ship may even get to use abilities.
The different types of Avionics are:
- Integrated Avionics –Used to upgrade the Railjack’s base stats in order to improve offense or defense.
- Battle Avionics – Gives the Railjack offensive skills that may be used during combat which consume flux energy.
- Tactical Avionics – Provides the Railjack with tactical skills which are used to keep the ship safe or help maintain it.
How To Get Avionics?
Avionics drop from enemies that are defeated during Railjack missions which means that the more you play, the better the chances of getting Avionics.
The Avionics will give off a bright yellow glow and a marker will appear that will show the location in order to help players see them better.
Different enemies will drop different Avionics and depending on which of the Avionics you are after, you might need to figure out which enemy drops them and what Proxima would be the best to hunt for its in.
Resource Drop Booster can help not only acquire Avionics but also other resources while doing Railjack missions, making farming more efficient.
Avionics are treated as mods, thus causing an absurd amount to be dropped when you have a Mod Drop Booster and an even insane amount with both Resource Drop Booster and Mod Drop Booster.
Avionics Houses
You may notice that there are Avionics of the same name which give different stats but not all will be viable for your builds.
There is a total of 3 different houses which have their own versions of the Avionics which you may acquire and each of them give either higher or lower stats based on the houses.
Some houses may give higher stats when it comes to one piece of Avionics while the other may also give a higher amount for another one which means you should analyze the differences to make sure you can build up your Railjack the way you want to.
The following houses are:
Upgrading Avionics
Just like with the mods that you use for your Warframe, the Railjack Avionics may also be upgraded, giving it much higher stats than unranked Avionics would provide.
You may upgrade Avionics that are currently equipped by clicking the Avionics button in the Railjack Avionics menu.
Upgrading Avionics will require Dirac which can be obtained by doing Railjack missions or scrapping unwanted Railjack items such as Avionics, Components and Weapons.
Grids will require 200 Dirac for the first upgrade, 600 for the second and 1800 for the third which is a total of 2600 Dirac for each slot.
Avionics Grid
The Avionics Grid allows you to furthermore increase the rank of Avionics without even upgrading them by instead upgrading the slots where the Avionics are equipped.
Upgrading the Grid requires Dirac and the costs scales higher per upgrade, making it a bit pricey but worth it in the end.
No matter what rank your Avionics are, placing it in a slot which has been upgraded will increase its rank depending on the upgraded slot.
An upgraded Grid allows Avionics to reach ranks much higher than even their max rank which can really boost the capabilities of a Railjack.
How to Increase Avionics Capacity?
Avionics does take its own toll on the Railjack and there needs to be adjustments done to equip better ones.
Each of the Avionics will have a certain amount of drain depending on the Avionics itself, house that created the Avionics (such as Lavan,Vidar or Zekti) and the rank that is has been upgraded to.
Railjacks will have a certain capacity that will be drained when Avionics are equipped and when there is no more capacity left, no more Avionics may be equipped.
In order to increase your Avionics capacity, you will need to install a new reactor which will increase the capacity count on your Railjack.
Reactors will have different stats regardless of being of the same house and you should carefully check them to get the best Avionics capacity increase.
One of the best Reactors available for increasing Railjack Avionics capacity is the Vidar Reactor which can reach to above an additional 90 ore more capacity.
Avionics Drop
Avionics can drop in any mission but not all enemies will drop the same ones which means if you are looking for a specific piece to add to your Railjack, you might need to look a little closer.
A good idea to find out what enemies would drop would be to scan them which will later on allow you to view their drop table.
For a list of the enemies and their drops, check out: Railjack Enemies
How to Farm Avionics?
Once you understand how Avionics work and figure out there are certain ones that you want to collect or add to your Railjack, things become a bit grindy.
In order to get a lot of Avionics you will need to do missions again and again until you get the Avionics that you want.
A good idea would be to either farm a higher level mission with no objectives aside from destroying fighters and crew ships or simply farming the lower levels on the Earth or Saturn Proxima.
For the Avionics locations, you simply need to find the enemies that drop them and go to the right Proxima to encounter them.
Avionics Tradeable
Avionics can be traded among players for whatever they agree upon whether it be for another piece of Avionics, another item or platinum.
Be sure to hover your mouse over the Avionics to check if you are being traded the correct Avionics as the houses are completely different.
Integrated Avionics
Integrated Avionics are meant to affect the already built in features of your Railjack which pretty much means it will boost the basic stats that it has.
Depending on the Integrated Avionics that you install, the offense or defense of your Railjack will be affected and depending on your playstyle, you can configure the Railjack to best suit you.

Tips
- Avionics drop from different enemies, scanning the fighters while in Archwing mode can help you identify which enemies drop specific ones which you can later check in your codex.
- There is no right build for Railjacks and it is mostly dependent on your playstyle so be sure to test out different builds and see what is more comfortable.
- Its best to farm in groups to make sure that the missions end faster but soloing is also viable if you are more comfortable that way.
- You can trade Avionics with other players but be sure to double check the different houses so you get the right one you are looking for.
