The Argonak is a uniquely underrated Grineer Assault Rifle that has more capabilities than most would think, especially when it comes to different situations.
This weapon is capable of firing using two different fire modes, one that has increased critical chance and another that focuses on status chance.
It has a unique ability that allows it to highlight enemies that you aim at, revealing them even in dark areas to hit easily as they become highlighted.

Argonak Builds
1) Amalgram Build
The Argonak Amalgram Build features the Amalgram Argonak Metal Auger mod, which provides a boost to users that have dagger-type melee weapons equipped.
This build focuses on dealing critical damage but can also work as a status build when the critical mods have been changed to status ones.
With weapons equipped, enemies become weaker as their armor is reduced, making them easier to kill with the right equipment.
2) Critical Build V.1
This is a non-elemental variation of our Argonak Build that focuses on increasing the critical chance of the Argonak dealing high amounts of damage.
Its critical chance has been increased to 81% with a critical multiplier of 5.1x, making it strong against most enemies.
The build works well against most enemies, especially those who do not have much armor as its physical damage can tear enemies to bits.
3) Critical Build V.2
Our second variation for Argonak’s Critical Build applies elemental damage mods to convert a portion of its physical damage into elemental damage.
This allows you to include an elemental combination that will help cause status effects or weaken certain enemies.
With an elemental combination, you can deal increased amounts of damage against certain factions, making them easier to defeat along with the critical damage dealt.
4) Status Build
Focusing more on inflicting status effects, the Argonak Status Build has been modded to increase its status chance up to 113.4%.
Each shot with the Argonak will now be able to inflict a status effect on enemies, making them weaker with every shot depending on the elemental combinations.
This is best used when you are in the secondary firing mode (automatic) which features a faster fire rate with less critical chance.
5) Hybrid Build
By combining critical chance and status chance, we have come up with a hybrid build for the Argonak, allowing you to deal critical hits as well as inflict status effects.
This build uses critical mods along with the four elemental status mods to create high amounts of damage while boosting both critical chance and status chance.
With the different status effects you can inflict, enemies will suffer and become weaker while critical hits will drain their health quickly.
Argonak Riven Suggestions
There are several ways for you to customize the Argonak and if you are getting an Argonak Riven, you will most likely want one that can compensate for both of its firing modes.
This means that getting a Riven that has multishot, damage, fire rate, and other stats that affect both firing modes will be the best idea.
Is The Argonak Any Good?
Some would look down on the Argonak seeing that it is a simple Grineer weapon that works as a common rifle but there is more to it than meets the eye.
Since the Argonak has firing modes separately for critical chance and status chance, this may seem hard to use for some but with the right mods, it can become a devastating weapon.
It is best to focus on increasing its overall damage but if you are focused on using a certain firing mode more often, you can focus on pushing toward certain stats.
Verdict
The Argonak is a weapon that can be very useful in certain missions and is surely able to kill even difficult enemies when modded right.
It becomes flexible due to the change in firing modes and you can put this to your advantage by priming enemies with its secondary firing mode and finishing them off with its primary one.
Unlike most weapons, there are no variants for the Argonak yet but probably in the future, we may see an Argonak Prime or a Kuva Argonak someday.
