Whalaska (Location, Drops, Uses & Partner Skill): Palworld

Strange Pals emerged with the release of the Tides of Terraria update, and one of the more massive ones to be discovered is Whalaska.

This Pal appears to be a type of whale that has its back covered in ice and a longer piece protruding from its front, similar to a horn.

While they appear peaceful at a distance, an angry Whalaska can be quite a problem for those who tend to anger it, which could lead to it unleashing deadly Ice and Water attacks.

Whalaska Location Map

Whalaska is one of the few Pals that are often obtained by fishing, and when it comes to the best location to fish for it, you will want to go to Feybreak Island.

Around the southern part of Feybreak Island, in the Frozen Coral Hill will be several fishing spots where Whalaska tends to be found.

Other locations where you can fish for Whalaska are at the Isle of the Glacial Core and the Level 50/60 Rayne Syndicate Platform Oil rigs.

Whalaska Uses

Whalaska is one of the Pals that has effects on fishing minigames, giving you a good boost and easier progress when catching Pals this way.

When it comes to a fight, this Pal can endure more than smaller Pals and dish out a good deal of damage when it has reached higher levels.

When assigned to a base, Whalaska can be a good replacement for Water and Ice Pals since it has both the Watering and Cooling work skills.

Partner Skill

Chilled Whale Cruiser

Whalaska’s Partner Skill is called Chilled Whale Cruiser, and this allows the Pal to be ridden once you have crafted and equipped its saddle.

The fishing minigame is affected while Whalaska is summoned, which results in the capture gauge starting higher than usual.

Aside from the head start with the capture gauge, it will also progress faster when the bar is aligned with the fish symbol.

Work Suitability

Whalaska is perfect for bases that require both Watering and Cooling, as it has a decent level of both of these work skills.

  • Watering (Level 3)
  • Cooling (Level 4)

Whalaska Possible Drops

Verdict

Whalaska is not only good for fishing, but it has attacks that can be quite useful, especially its Exclusive Skill called High Breach (Level 40) that lets it charge toward enemies to unleash a blast.

Players can use Whalaska as a Pal for swimming across the water, which can come in handy if they need to fish for Pals or obtain salvage from the water.

A combination of Water and Ice makes it easy to give your enemies a tough time since enemies affected by Soak are slowed, and eventually ice attacks can Freeze them.
