The Tides of Terraria update has introduced multiple Pals, and some of them came along with additional variants, such as Whalaska Ignis.
This variation of Whalaska combines the Ice and Fire elements, making this Pal a decent choice for both fighting and working at a base.
While you may have to venture further from the starting areas in Palworld to get this Pal, Whalaska Ignis can be beneficial in multiple ways, depending on what you may need.

Similar to its original variant, Whalaska Ignis can also be found around Feybreak Island at fishing spots around the shore.
This will mainly be in the majority of the locations except for the Frozen Coral Hill, as those shores are where the original variant is found.
Whalaska Ignis can also be found in some fishing spots near the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary, as well as the Level 60 Rayne Syndicate Platform Oil Rig.
Whalaska Ignis Uses
Similar to Whalaska, this Pal has Ice Active Skills and instead of having Water attacks, it has Fire attacks that can be paired with its first element, giving you different options for attacks.
When it comes to working at a base, you can have Whalaska Ignis take on tasks that involve either Kindling or Cooling, making it a good Pal for tasks that require Fire or Ice Pals.
Having Whalaska Ignis fight alongside you in battle can be useful since it learns powerful attacks at higher levels and gains decent stats when it is stronger.
Partner Skill
Cozy Whale Cruiser
Cozy Whale Cruiser has the same effect as Whalaska’s Chilled Whale Cruiser Partner Skill, which allows you to ride the Pal and gain benefits when fishing.
When summoned, Whalaska Ignis causes the capture gauge during the fishing minigame to start higher than usual.
You will also have an easier time catching Pals via fishing since the capture gauge will fill faster as you align the bar. (Requires Whalaska Ignis Saddle)
Work Suitability
Whalaska Ignis does not have the Watering work skill like its original, as this has been replaced with Kindling, giving you other options when it comes to replacing Ice and Fire Pals at a base.

Having Ice and Fire attacks can trigger certain status conditions, and in Whalaska Ignis’ case, it will often freeze its targets or cause them to burn.
