Once you start to get your hands on firearms in Palworld, you will realize that a lot of Sulfur will be needed to create Gunpowder for ammunition.
This makes it necessary to have a good supply of Sulfur but running around and searching for Sulfur Nodes can take up a lot of your time.
It is a good thing that the Sulfur Mine was added to the game, which allows Pals to farm Sulfur for you while you are busy with other things.
How To Unlock and Build Sulfur Mine Site?
The Sulfur Mine becomes available once you have reached Level 45 but that won’t be it because you still need to defeat the boss at the Tower of the PIDF.
The Tower of the PIDF can be found around the Dessicated Dunes and starting the battle will put you up against Marcus and Faleris. (Level 40 Recommended)
Once you have reached Level 45 and have already defeated Marcus and Faleris, you may unlock the Sulfur Mine from your Technology Menu.
Sulfur Mine can be found under Ancient Technology and will cost you 5 Ancient Technology Points while crafting it will cost you the following materials:
- 70 Stone
- 100 Sulfur
- 30 Paldium Fragment
Sulfur Mine Site Uses
Sulfur Mines are similar to Coal Mines and Ore Mining Sites, which allow you to produce materials at your base instead of having to search for nodes.
Once a Sulfur Mine has been built at one of your bases, any Pals with Level 2 Mining will automatically mine at the structure or may be assigned to it.
Pals with a higher level in Mining will be able to produce Sulfur faster, which still needs to be collected from the Sulfur Mine.
If your base has Pals with the Handling Work Skill, they will proceed with collecting the Sulfur and will transport it to the nearest available chest or other storage facility.
Having multiple Pals working at a Sulfur Mine will allow more Sulfur to be produced over a shorter amount of time.
Verdict
A Sulfur Mine will require Sulfur as one of its building materials, which makes it necessary for you to explore and gather a few before you can get an unlimited supply.
Assigning Pals that have both Mining and Handling is a good idea when it comes to setting up a Sulfur Mine as this will allow them to transport the Sulfur they have collected.
Having at least one Sulfur Mine is enough to provide you with a lot of Sulfur to use later when crafting Gunpowder and this is important as you will need it for crafting ammo.
