When progressing in Palworld, you will find that obtaining more and more materials can become tedious from time to time and this includes Ore.
Luckily, you will be able to unlock and build an Ore Mining Site at some point, which will allow Pals to obtain Ore from the comforts of your base.
You will need to progress a bit and take on one of the bosses first though but once this happens, you will have a limitless supply of Ore to smelt for Ingots.
How To Unlock and Build Ore Mining Site?
To unlock the Ore Mining Site, you will first need to reach Level 24 but that is not all because you will also need to take down a Tower Boss.
By the time you are Level 24, you will need to defeat Lily and Lyleen (Tower Of Free Pal Alliance) before you can unlock the Ore Mining Site.
Once you have reached Level 24 and have defeated Lily and Lyleen, you may build the Ore Mining Site using the following materials:
- 50 Stone
- 25 Ingot
- 20 Paldium Fragment
Upon reaching Level 38, you will be able to unlock the Ore Mining Site II after meeting the prerequisites for the Ore Mining Site.
The Ore Mining Site II allows more Pals to work on mining Ore and is considered a faster way to obtain the material but takes up more space.
The following materials are needed for the Ore Mining Site II:
- 100 Stone
- 50 Ingot
- 40 Paldium Fragment
Ore Mining Site Uses
The Ore Mining Site was added later in the game and works similar to a Logging Site or a Stone Pit, providing you with a way to produce Ore at your base.
This will require that Pals with at least Level 2 Mining are assigned to your base or the Ore Mining Site to start collecting Ore.
Ore that is collected from the Ore Mining Site may be transported to a nearby chest within your base by Pals with the Handling Work Skill.
Ore Mining Site II
The Ore Mining Site II is a bigger variant than the Ore Mining Site, which is larger but can accommodate more Pals.
More Pals being assigned to the Ore Mining Site II will allow you to produce more Ore in a smaller amount of time.
This is a useful structure to have for replacing the Ore Mining Site in bases, especially ones that have been set up for mining.
Verdict
The Ore Mining Site can be unlocked early when you have just started your game and at about Levels 20 to 25, you can take on Lily and Lyleen.
Until you have not yet unlocked the Ore Mining Site, settling for a base near Ore Nodes is ideal but once unlocked, you can focus on using your bases for other needs.
Having more than one Ore Mining Site is possible but to conserve space, it is best to make sure you maximize your Pal assignments.
