Palworld: Zoe & Grizzbolt (How To Recruit, Equip & Upgrade)

When the Tides of Terraria update was released, one of the earliest bosses that you encountered became a potential ally and now Zoe & Grizzbolt can join your team.

Following the defeat of this boss during the early parts of your game, Zoe becomes an NPC that you can encounter at a church near her tower.

All you need to do is speak to Zoe later, and after doing a few challenges to prove yourself, Zoe will gladly join your team and bring her Grizzbolt along with her.

How To Complete Zoe & Grizzbolt Missions?

Find Zoe in Desolate Church

After defeating Zoe & Grizzbolt for the first time, she will appear as an NPC at the Desolate Church, and you can fast travel there if you have already unlocked the waypoint.

Zoe will have a total of 3 missions for you to do, and all of these are easy to complete, but before you can begin, make sure you have a Grizzbolt, as this is part of the first mission. (Speak to her to start)

Mission 1: Don’t Get Cocky

The first mission is called “Don’t Get Cocky,” and this is where you are challenged to capture a Grizzbolt and take it back to Zoe to prove how good you are.

All you need to do is have a Grizzbolt summoned (whether it has been caught or bred) and speak to Zoe to proceed to the next mission.

Mission 2: I Still Don’t Trust You

While Zoe has a hard time believing how good a Pal Trainer you are, she opens up about some trouble that the Free Pal Alliance members have been giving her crew.

Your next step will be to head out to their territory and capture or defeat 5 Free Pal Alliance members before returning to speak with Zoe.

Mission 3: A Warm Memory

Speaking to Zoe to get the third mission will have her talking about a personal matter, which involves a piece of cloth that kept her warm back when she ran away.

Zoe requests that you find this “Tattered Memento” at the ruins, which you can reach by fast traveling to the Fort Ruins waypoint. (Follow the marker to find it)

How To Recruit and Equip Zoe & Grizzbolt?

Speak to Zoe once you have completed all three quests, and she will join your team or will be added to your Palbox for you to equip whenever needed.

If you are having trouble finding her in your Palbox or believe she was not added, try sorting your Pals and the Zoe & Grizzbolt ally will come after Grizzbolt.

Similar to other Pals, all you need to do is move Zoe & Grizzbolt into your team, and you will be able to summon them just like you would any other Pal. (Zoe will be riding Grizzbolt)

Upgrading Zoe & Grizzbolt

Since Zoe & Grizzbolt are considered a single companion, you won’t have the option to obtain Passive Skills through breeding, but can still resort to other ways.

Using the Pal Surgery Table or utilizing Dr. Brawn are currently the only ways for you to get Zoe & Grizzbolt the Passive Skills that you want them to have.

You can further increase the capabilities of Zoe & Grizzbolt by condensing this companion, which will consume regular Grizzbolts and may upgrade their stats at a Statue of Power.

Verdict

Zoe & Grizzbolt can be a fun companion to have around, and they can still be considered as a regular Grizzbolt with the addition of Zoe riding it.

When it comes to the late game in Palworld, the difficulty of getting Zoe & Grizzbolt to have Passive Skills can be a challenge compared to breeding regular Pals.

All in all, it’s nice to see that we have a Tower Boss joining the ranks, and this means that in the future, others may join your journey as well.
