Doctor Brawn is an NPC that was added in the Feybreak Update, who claims to be a genius scientist who wishes to push the boundaries of Pal science.
This NPC will appear from time to time and if you find him, speaking to him will allow you to alter one of your Pals through his experimental surgery.
Doctor Brawn may either give your Pal good results or sometimes bad ones, which makes it important to be careful and consider the risks.
How To Find Doctor Brawn?
Doctor Brawn can spawn in any of the Incident or Event Areas found, which are specific locations on the map where different events may occur.
Heading to these locations will give you a chance to encounter certain events and there will be a rare chance of Doctor Brawn being there.
Since Doctor Brawn has a very rare chance to appear, some players consider it a good idea to attack him and eventually capture him to have him in a base.
Sakurajima Island and Feybreak Island are some of the more popular locations where players would often search for Doctor Brawn.

A good way to get Doctor Brawn to appear would be to head to an Incident Spawn area (Event Area) and check if he is there.
Leaving the area by flying around 100 meters away or more and returning will despawn the previous event and returning spawns a new one, which has a chance to be Doctor Brawn.
Doctor Brawn Pal Experiments
Doctor Brawn will offer to experiment on your Pal and for this to prompt when speaking to him, a Pal needs to be summoned.
Speaking to Doctor Brawn will then allow you to agree on having the “Sketchy Surgery” performed, which will make alterations to your Pal.
The following are the known results (positive or negative) that may happen to your Pal:
Positive Results
- Replacing a negative Passive Skill with a positive one
- Adding 15 to all stats if all Passive Skills are positive
- Replace a negative Passive Skill with a positive one
It is possible to get 15 to all stats and have a negative Passive Skill replaced with the experiment and Doctor Brawn will always prioritize changing the negative one.
Negative Results
- Reducing all stats by 30 if your Pal has 4 negative Passive Skills
- Replacing a positive Passive Skill with a negative one
Doctor Brawn may cause both a reduction to all stats by 30 and have a positive Passive Skill replaced with a negative one.
How To Get Doctor Brawn?
To get Doctor Brawn and keep him in your base, you will need to attack him and eventually capture him with a Sphere.
It is recommended to use an Ultimate Sphere or an Exotic Sphere as these have the best capture chances since Doctor Brawn is extremely hard to capture.
Once you have captured Doctor Brawn, you will be able to assign him to your base and may speak to him to have the experiment performed. (Can only be done once per in-game day)
Verdict
Having Doctor Brawn perform the experiments on your Pals is more of a gamble and you may never know what the results may end up as.
It is advisable to use a Pal that you are not using as your main since this will permanently ruin its stats or Passive Skills if the experiment goes wrong.
Capturing Doctor Brawn may be difficult but this provides you with experiments every in-game day you can only do this once regardless of how many instances of this NPC you have.
