Palworld has a lot of ingredients that you can farm to cook recipes that can provide you with not only nourishment but also buffs.
One of the ingredients that you will need later on is Potatoes and these can be grown just like the other vegetables in the game.
To start growing your Potatoes though, you will need to make sure you have all the required materials and the right Pals for the job.
How To Get Potatoes?
Potato Plantations
Potatoes can be grown at Potato Plantations, which is a structure that becomes available once you hit Level 29 and unlock it from your Technology Menu.
Once you have unlocked the Potato Plantation, you can build the structure and either tend to it manually or have your Pals do the job for you.
Crafting a Potato Plantation requires the following:
- 3 Potato Seeds
- 70 Wood
- 50 Stone
- 5 Pal Fluids
After building a Potato Plantation, approaching the structure will allow you to interact with it to perform various tasks in a specific order. (Planting, Watering, and Gathering)
If you have Pals who have suitable Work Skills for each of the mentioned tasks for the Potato Plantation, they will be able to tend to the plantation for you.
How To Get Potato Seeds?
Potato Seeds can be found by looting chests when you are exploring but the chances to get them are better with hunting certain Pals.
Some of the Grass Pals in Palworld are known for dropping Potato Seeds, which can be a faster way to get your hands on them.
Potato Uses
Potatoes may be edible but they don’t provide you with the best boost in Nutrition and they expire fast, which makes it important to have your stock preserved until they are needed.
Eating a Potato will restore 11 Nutrition but using them for cooking can provide you with certain buffs that can help you defeat your enemies easily.
Having a good supply of Potatoes for later can make cooking a simple task, especially when you unlock better ways to cook recipes.
Potato Recipes
Below is a list of the different Recipes that require Potatoes when cooking, which mainly include some of the better Food Items in the game:
- French Fries
- Gratin
- Minestrone
- Mammorest Curry
- Galeclaw Nikujaga
Verdict
Potatoes may not be much of a big deal when you first start but you may find it necessary to have buffs when it comes to facing bosses and other tough enemies.
Keeping a Feedbox near your plantations is a great way to store a ton of them over time and you can later use them for cooking.
While multiple Pals may have Potato Seeds in their drop table, it is not guaranteed that they will always drop them and this makes it important to find the right Pals to defeat.
