The Feybreak Update added a new ingredient to the game which is Onions, and these may become valuable later once players need to cook certain recipes.
Luckily, getting your hands on a ton of Onions can be done later once you get a few Onion Seeds, which are needed for building a plantation.
While Onions may have been added in the Feybreak Update, you won’t need to go to difficult lengths to get Onion Seeds and may easily do this once you progress a bit in the game.
How To Get Onion Seeds?
Onion Seeds may often be found while you are exploring the different parts of the island and open chests along the way, but certain Pals may be hunted for them.
There are a few Grass Pals that are known to drop Onion Seeds as well as other seeds that may be useful later when you plan on making plantations.
The following are the Pals that can be defeated or captured to obtain Onion Seeds:
- Cinnamoth
- Mossanda
- Vaelet
Onion Seed Uses
Onion Seeds are needed to build an Onion Plantation and once this structure has been unlocked and built, you can begin growing Onions.
This can be done by using your character to go through the different processes needed (planting, watering, and gathering) to produce Onions. (This can be done repeatedly)
Another way for the Onion Plantation to produce Onions without you having to do any of the work would include having Pals at your base that have the required Work Skills.
Best Way to Grow Onions
If you plan on stocking up on Onions, the best way to grow them would be to have your Pals do the job for you and this will allow you to focus on other tasks.
Since plantations require Pals that can plant, water, and gather at the Onion Plantation, having all the necessary Pals in your base will allow them to handle everything.
Some players may find that more than one plantation can speed up the rate at which you can produce Onions, but one should be enough.
Verdict
When it comes to the late-game Food Items, you will want to cook the recipes that will benefit your character and/or Pals along the way.
This makes it necessary to have Onions along with other ingredients if you plan on cooking some of the higher-rarity dishes.
Even if Onions provide a decent amount of Nutrition, it is better to stick to Red Berries when filling up your characters and Pals and save the Onions for when you really need them.
