With the release of the Tides of Terraria update, strange Pals began to emerge, and one of these is a Water and Dark Pal called Gloopie.
Gloopie appears to be a gentle Pal that looks like it is sleepy, but it can be quite active when in a fight, and when it comes to fishing, it can be an even bigger help.
This Pal is also known for the Gloopie Tentacle that it drops, which is an ingredient used for the Fried Gloopie Balls recipe.
Gloopie Location Map
Gloopie can be found roaming around the Isle of Decayed Treasures, which is roughly around (623, 163) to the east of Eastern Wild Island.
Once you reach the Isle of Decayed Treasures, exploring it will end with you coming across multiple Gloopie, and you can catch them on the spot.
In addition to this, Gloopie is also one of the Pals that can be obtained from a Fishing Pond. (Large Fish Shadow)
Gloopie Uses
Gloopie can be a good Pal to have summoned when you are fishing since its Partner Skill can prevent you from quickly losing Pals since it slows down the decrease of your capture gauge.
When fighting together, this Pal can utilize both Water and Dark Active Skills, which can make it useful against certain types of Pals.
For those who intend on farming Gloopie Tentacle, you can breed tons of Gloopie and butcher them or process them at a Pal Disassembly Conveyor to farm the ingredient.
Partner Skill
Sticky Princess
While Gloopie is summoned, the capture gauge during the fishing minigame will decrease slowly when the bar is not aligned.
This makes it easier for you to catch Pals through fishing since the chances of them escaping will be less likely, as the capture gauge doesn’t drop too fast.
Work Suitability
Gloopie has multiple work skills that are all Level 2, making it a good option to add to your base to substitute other Pals, especially since it can craft, build, transport, and provide Watering.
- Handiwork (Level 2)
- Transporting (Level 2)
- Watering (Level 2)
Gloopie Possible Drops
- Pal Fluids
- Gloopie Tentacle
Verdict
A highly condensed Gloopie can make fishing a walk in the park, especially when you are aiming to farm items from the activity.
Gloopie learns both Water and Dark Active Skills, and you can choose to either have a combination of them or stick to a single element.
This Pal can be a good addition to your base if you need a Pal that can craft and build, while its ability to provide Watering also makes it useful for plantations and other water-related tasks.
