When the Tides of Terraria update came into play, more Pals were added to the game, and one of them is called Ghangler.
This Dark and Water Pal resembles what would be an angler fish with a twist, and it can be quite aggressive when you encounter it.
Having your own Ghangler can be beneficial in different ways, and this can either be for combat, riding quickly across water, fishing at night, or having it help out at your base.
Ghangler Location Map
Ghangler can be found at the Phantom Isle, and you will often come across several of these Pals wandering around together.
Once you reach the Phantom Isle, you may begin exploring the area and will eventually run into groups of 3 most of the time.
It is also possible to catch Ghangler from a Large Fishing Pond. (Large Fish Shadow)
Ghangler Uses
Ghangler can be an aggressive Pal when it comes to battles, and with its combination of both Dark and Water Active Skills, it can be useful against certain types of Pals.
When it comes to fishing, it is best to use Ghangler during the night, as this makes it easier for you to catch Pals as they will tend to bite on your bait more often.
When assigned to a base, Ghangler does an extremely good job working on structures that require Water Pals, especially when it has been condensed.
Partner Skill
Master Night Angler
Ghangler can be ridden to quickly travel across water, and while this Pal is summoned, the time it takes for Pals to bite during the night is reduced.
This makes it ideal for using Ghangler when you have found a Fishing Spot during the night, allowing you to easily attract them with your bait.
Riding this Pal requires that you have the Ghangler Saddle. (Unlock at Level 37)
Work Suitability
Ghangler is an efficient Pal when it comes to working at structures that require the Watering work skill and may also help out with transporting items.
- Transporting (Level 2)
- Watering (Level 4)
Ghangler Possible Drops
- Bone
- Venom Gland
Verdict
Ghangler is useful for many things, and when it comes to fishing, you can expect Pals to quickly take a nibble on even the cheapest of bait.
If you want to quickly get across water, Ghangler can be an excellent option that can also prove to be useful when you encounter enemies.
Since this Pal has a high level of the Watering work skill, it can be a good replacement for other Pals, especially since it is smaller and can easily get around your base.
