It seems that a group was ambushed, and Bryona needs your help to investigate what has happened as well as help out in any way that you can at the Firebreak Manor.
How To Get The Embers Yet Smolder Seasonal Quest?
The Embers Yet Smolder Seasonal Quest becomes available the moment you load into the game after starting a new character.
This Seasonal Quest acts as the first one during Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim, which begins your journey to discover a new threat in Sanctuary.
The Embers Yet Smolder Quest Walkthrough
Once the quest begins, head over to the marked location and speak with Bryona for a quick cutscene that shows her argument with Flannican.
Bryona will ask you to head to Firebreak Manor, and you will need to head to this location nearby and speak with her once you arrive.
After your conversation with Bryona, she will have asked you to head over to where the ambush took place and to help out any survivors that you can.
You will need to head to each of the marked locations on your map, which is south of Cerrigar until you have reached each marker.
Continue by making your way to the Eldhaime Keep Great Hall, which is where a Horadric Wayfinder may be found, and you must interact with it.
This will provide you with the Horadric Wayfinder (Quest Item), and next, you may speak to Bryona to continue, as she will ask you to check a nearby dungeon called “Demon’s Wake.”
Entering Demon’s Wake will have you exploring the Burning Keep, and you will need to push forward until you find a Horadric Gateway.
Interact with the Horadric Gateway, and this will cause enemies to spawn, which you will need to defeat until a Horadric Portal appears.
Enter the Horadric Portal, and this will bring you to the Horadric Strongroom, where you will need to complete the activity before progressing.
Regardless of what tier you reach with the Horadric Strongroom activity, a Horadric Cache will appear, and this must be opened to claim your rewards.
Claim the Blood Relic that drops, and you will begin to hear Astaroth speaking to you, and you will notice that a portal nearby will allow you to return.
Head through the portal to return to the Burning Keep and make your way out of the dungeon so that you may return to Bryona in Cerrigar.
Speak with Bryona to continue, and after the conversation between the two of you, there will be a Horadric Focus that you may interact with.
Interacting with the Horadric Focus will allow you to view your Horadric Knowledge, which serves as a rewards system that will be available during Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim.
Speak with Bryona again to get further instructions on what to do next, and afterwards, the quest will be complete.
The Embers Yet Smolder Quest Rewards
Upon exiting the Burning Keep and speaking to Bryona after what you have found, The Embers Yet Smolder Seasonal Quest will be complete.
For completing The Embers Yet Smolder Seasonal Quest, you will receive XP, Gold, and an Elixir Cache that can be opened to obtain a random reward.
Verdict
The group that explored the Eldhaime Ruins was caught off guard by several demons that were converging on the area.
It appears that these demons were attracted to the blood of Astaroth, which led to the demise of several members of the group.
While you attempted to help out with the situation, you found a Blood Relic, and Bryona wants you to search for more of them to see what else may be discovered.
