Diablo 4 has a great way of making the whole experience of fighting demons in Sanctuary more challenging, but things have gotten even more intense.
With the arrival of Season 6 and the Vessel of Hatred Expansion, Diablo 4 has gained 4 new basic difficulties and has moved Torment Tiers up the ladder.
Players will now be able to get even more rewards and face tougher challenges as they progress from Normal or Hard to Torment IV.

How To Change Difficulty?
Just like with the previous seasons, you can change your current difficulty by interacting with the Statue of Inarius in Kyovashad.
you may also change the difficulty of your game by interacting with the Statue of Akarat, which can be found in the Kurast Bazaar.
Verdict
The four standard difficulties (Normal, Hard, Expert, and Penitent) are best for players who are climbing up the game and are building their characters.
Those who want to take on a more difficult challenge will slowly be able to progress from Penitent up to Torment IV, where things get intense.
A good way to start would be to start on Normal or Hard and shift to Expert before changing to Penitent but this requires that you gear up and prepare your character before jumping higher.
