The Realmwalker and Seething Realm Activity is a new addition to Diablo 4 that was introduced in Season 6. (Season of Hatred Rising)
When stepping into Season 6, you will be able to interact with an NPC in Zarbinzet (Crusader Damond, the Zakarum Remnants Quartermaster) who introduces you to the activity.
During the Season of Hatred Rising, you will be able to hunt down Realmwalkers and defeat them to enter the Seething Realm to grab various rewards.
What Are Realmwalkers?
Realmwalkers are large behemoths that can be found hiding in the ground, which appear to have a portal on their back. (Unknown Portal)
These creatures will begin to walk once the activity begins and you will need to attack them to take them down, which opens a portal to the Seething Realm.
The Seething Realm acts as a dungeon that you may complete, which will yield various rewards, including Seething Opals. (Consume these to get a certain drop boost for specific items)
How To Find Realmwalkers?
Once a Realmwalker appears in a location, you will get a notification and will see the timer that runs, showing when they will emerge from the ground.
After checking if a Realmwalker is active, search for its location on your map (look for its icon) and you will find its exact location.
Realmwalkers will appear in areas with Hared Rising Activity, which are shown in each region with a green Hatred Rising Icon.
How To Defeat Realmwalkers?
When the timer goes out, the Realmwalker will rise from the ground and begin walking, giving you a set amount of time to defeat it before it disappears.
As the Realmwalker Travels, you will need to defeat the monsters that it spawns, which will cause it to become angry.
After a Realmwalker has become angered, it will unleash Bloodbound Guardians and these need to be defeated to damage the Realmwalker’s Health.
Once you have depleted all of a Realmwalker’s Health, it will crumble to the ground and a portal to the Seething Realm will appear.
How To Complete Seething Realm?
Once you enter the portal to see the Seething Realm, you will come across a Realm Gate after fighting your way through groups of enemies. (This is where you pick out your Seething Opals)
After choosing a Seething Opal, proceed with completing the objectives, and at the end of the dungeon, you will need to defeat the Sentinel Guardians to get your rewards.
Sentinel Guardians will drop loot when defeated and once all of them have been dealt with, you will be able to open chests for additional rewards.
Realm Gates
Realm Gates will appear early in Seething Realms, allowing you to choose between the following rewards (Realm Bonus) to be obtained at the end:
- Seething Opal of Torment – Enemies drop Artificer’s Stones and Boss Summoning Items frequently.
- Seething Opal of Gold – Enemies will drop more Gold.
- Seething Opal of Equipment – Equipment drops will be more frequent
- Seething Opal of Materials – Crafting Materials will often drop from enemies
- Seething Opal of Socketables (Requires 3 Angelbreath) – Enemies often drop Gem Fragments and even Runes.
Seething Opals effects take place once consumed and will last for a limited amount of time, making it necessary to use them when you plan to slay several monsters.
Seething Ruptures
Seething Ruptures are portals to smaller areas within the Seething Realms, which you can find if you explore the dungeon. (Seething Realm)
Entering these will allow you to obtain additional rewards, which will be related to the Realm Bonus that you have chosen.
Sometimes you will find events in Seething Ruptures, and these can be completed to obtain more rewards.
Seething Realm Rewards
Completing a Seething Realm will yield several rewards, which are affected by the Realm Bonus you choose with the addition of other types of loot.
These will often include the following from chests that you open at the end:
- Seething Opals
- Equipment
- Crafting Materials
- Gold
Slaying the Sentinel Guardians at the end will reward you with multiple loots as well, which will often be related to your Realm Bonus.
Verdict
The Realmwalker and Seething Realms can take up a bit of time to complete but the rewards that they yield are extremely useful.
Aside from being able to farm valuable loot, you can use the Seething Opals that you get later to farm specific loot outside of the Seething Realms.
Choosing the Realm Bonus that you prefer will allow you to alter what kind of loot you get throughout the Seething Realm, making it possible to farm specific loot.
