Diablo’s Lunar Awakening Event has started and as an introduction to what will be available until February 19, the Lunar Awakening Quest serves as an introduction.
During this quest, you will get a glimpse of how most of the events will work, which includes interacting with Lunar Shrines and gaining Ancestral Favor.
Completing this Event Quest will prepare you for the grind, which will allow you to get various rewards while it lasts.
Lunar Awakening Walkthrough
The quest begins with you having to make your way to Ked Bardu, where you will need to speak with Ying-Yue, the Lunar Night Market NPC.
Speaking to Ying-Yue will allow you to choose the “What’s going on” dialogue, which results in her explaining what is happening before she sends you off to hunt for shrines.
After speaking to Ying-Yue, make your way to any location that is not a town and search for a Lunar Shrine to activate. (All Shrines have been turned into Lunar Shrines during the event)
Once you have located a Lunar Shrine (These will appear on your map with the purple event symbol on their logo), go ahead and interact with it.
After activating a Lunar Shrine, start killing as many enemies as you can and repeat this until you have gained enough Ancestral Favor.
When you have gotten enough Ancestral Favor, you will need to head back to Ying-Yue to speak to her once more.
Select the “I think the ancestors like me” dialogue and after a short conversation with Ying-Yue, the quest will be complete.
Lunar Awakening Quest Rewards
The Lunar Awakening Quest does not provide players with rewards as it serves merely to introduce you to the mechanics of the event.
Once you have completed the quest, you may feel free to continue grinding for Ancestral Favor and check in with Ying-Yue to obtain rewards and see your progress.
Verdict
Ying-Yue may always be found in Ked Bardu and you can visit her again at any time to check your current Ancestral Favor and collect rewards for each rank.
If you do not manage to get enough Ancestral Favor after the first Lunar Shrine, you may continue by searching for another one and killing more enemies.
Since the Lunar Awakening Event lasts until February 19, this quest will not be available afterwards as the event will have ended.
