After previously slaying Magdalena to remove The Woodsman’s Axe from her grasp, Parin has asked you to help him solve the problem for good.
You will now need to meet up with him in the Crags of Ill Wind, where he plans to perform a ritual to purge the demon from an Axe.
The two of you will need to find a way to get rid of The Woodsman using an Axe before he can claim any more souls.
How To Get Legacy Unmade Quest?
The Legacy Unmade Side Quest is chained to the Chains of Possession Side quest, which starts immediately after you complete it.
This begins once you have spoken to Parin after previously slaying Magdalena, who was possessed after wielding The Woodsman’s Axe.
Legacy Unmade Quest Objectives
1) Meet Parin in the Crags of Ill Wind
Parin will be waiting for you at the Crags of Ill Wind and you will need to head over to the area to begin the ritual that he has planned.
2) Enter the Sanctified Study
Once you reach the area, you will find Parin outside of his Sanctified Study, which you must now enter as this is where he plans to purge an Axe.
3) Follow Parin Into the Sanctified Study
Parin will lead you to where The Woodsman’s Axe has been placed on top of a table and you will need to follow him as he prepares.
4) Pick up the Woodsman’s Axe
The Woodsman’s Axe will be on top of a table nearby and you will need to pick it up by interacting with it to start the ritual.
5) Place the Woodsman’s Axe in the holy water
Parin will be next to a container of holy water and will instruct you to place the Woodsman’s Axe inside of it, which you can do by interacting with it.
6) Protect Parin
The soul of Magdalena will appear and begin to attack, which requires you to kill it while Parin continues with his chanting.
7) Slay the Demon
After fighting Magdalena, The Woodsman will appear and you will need to kill him while Parin continues with his ritual, which later makes an Axe vulnerable.
8) Destroy the Woodsman’s Axe
Once The Woodsman’s Axe is vulnerable, you will need to interact with it to destroy it, which appears to have ended the curse.
9) Speak with Parin
Parin will tell you that you have done it and an Axe is no more but he is unsure what will have happened to the souls claimed by an Axe. (Quest ends here)
Legacy Unmade Rewards
After you and Parin have successfully ended the curse of The Woodsman’s of Nevesk, the quest will be complete and you will be rewarded with the following:
- XP
- Gold
- 20 Fractured Peaks Renown
- 1 Salvage Cache
This also concludes the questline for the Woodsman of Nevestk, which is one of the challenges that you can claim rewards for.
Verdict
You and Parin were successful in putting a stop to The Woodsman once and for all but the cost might have been great as this didn’t happen sooner.
The Woodsman’s Axe seemed to have been possessed by the demon, which had taken over those who would wield it.
Magdalena as well as the other souls that have been claimed by an Axe are unaccounted for and no one knows what has happened to them.
