If you have stumbled across strange damaged spheres and have attempted to collect one, you have just picked up a Vision of the Traveler.
These are collectibles that were added in The Final Shape and hold a secret to unlocking an Exotic Weapon as 8 of them need to be collected in total.
Collecting these will provide you with Motes of Life, and in total you need 17 to unlock the Exotic version of the Khvostov 7G-0X Auto Rifle.
All Visions of the Traveler Locations
1) Vision of the Traveler 1 (The Last City)
The first Vision of the Traveler that you will encounter is often encountered outside of the Last City and if you have missed it, there is no need to worry.
You can always head back by going to the room where you can find Micah’s Conduit and head down a passage to the right that leads down and outside of her office.
Continue making your way out and keep to the right where you will find platforms that you may jump across just as you did when you first arrived in the Pale Heart.
Once you reach the end where you can see a waterfall, you will notice that a Vision of the Traveler can be found near it.
2) Vision of the Traveler 2 (The Landing)
This Vision of the Traveler is an easy one to get to since all you need to do is fast travel to The Landing and jump down from the spawn area.
Once you have jumped down, go around the left and you will stumble upon a waterfall coming down from the side of the structure.
If you take a good look, you will see the Vision of the Traveler at the base of the waterfall on the left and can easily interact with it.
3) Vision of the Traveler 3 (The Refraction)
Once again, we are looking at another waterfall but this time it is in The Refraction, which you will need to make your way to to get this Vision of the Traveler.
Head towards the area marked on the map or go to the edge where there is a huge gap with water coming in from all directions.
At the very end (near the marked location), you will see a small cave above the waterfall, and this may be entered to obtain another Vision of the Traveler.
4) Vision of the Traveler 4 (The Blooming)
If you have been to The Blooming, you may have noticed the large path going to The Seclusion and most Guardians often hurry through this area.
What you might not have noticed is that if you look up and check out one of the trees near the entrance, a Vision of the Traveler is seated on top of a branch.
You can make your way up this tree from the side and use whatever movement abilities you have such as jumping or gliding to reach it.
5) Vision of the Traveler 5 (Seering Light Cyst)
This one can be a little tricky because you can only get this Vision of the Traveler by doing the Seering Light Cyst. (You don’t need to finish it)
You will need to make your way to the second to the last area, which is a part of the cave with a large tree in it.
Don’t head to the boss just yet because a Vision of the Traveler is nearby and once you reach that tree, you should turn to your right.
To your right, there will be a small entrance that you can get inside, and this will lead you to the Vision of the Traveler.
6) Vision of the Traveler 6 (The Divide)
Finding this Vision of the Traveler is easy, but the journey is what makes it hard because you will need to scale a whole mountain of snow.
Pick out where you are going to start and mark the Memory: Divisive Darkness activity so you can easily reach the Vision of the Traveler.
You will eventually come across a structure and everything at this point is covered in snow and ice, which kind of makes the Vision of the Traveler fit in.
There will be an entrance to the structure and just above it, there will be a satellite that you should go behind to pick up the Vision of the Traveler.
7) Vision of the Traveler 7 (The Impasse)
One of the most missed Visions of the Traveler is the one in The Impasse and this is because it has been placed so well that it fits in with the area’s design.
Begin by fast traveling to The Impasse and make your way towards the temple, which takes you a fair distance to the Vision of the Traveler.
Check out the pillar with a ring going around it and if you look close enough, you will notice that the sphere in the center is a Vision of the Traveler.
8) Vision of the Traveler 8 (The Transgression)
This may be one of the more difficult Visions of the Traveler to find since your Guardian’s eyesight will be terrible here. (Not a condition, it’s just how things look)
What you need to do is make your way to the marked area where there are several pillars and if you head to the end of one side to the right, a sphere will be visible.
The Vision of the Traveler will be tucked away behind a tree, which makes it important to watch out for its glow just in case you don’t see it at first.
Verdict
Collecting all these Visions of the Traveler should get you exactly 8 Motes of Light, which leaves you to find 9 more.
The rest of these need to be obtained by defeating the bosses that you encounter in Overthrows, leaving you to face 3 bosses in each area.
Once you have all the Motes of Light, these will all be merged into the Mote of Primordial Light, which you will now bring to the Speaker’s Chamber to get the Exotic Khvostov 7G-0X.
